I'm trying to pick up Hollyoaks again after a 7 year absent, with the sound off (it's on at the gym). Not as easy as it looks, but I am impressed that Tony's still knocking about

NewYearNewPants · 06/01/2011 17:47

TCNY - they must only use about four actors. It's always the same four voices!

Radio drama is cringe on the whole, I find.

You hear the 'gate shut' and you just see some giffer in a broom cupboard at Broadcasting House banging a sheet of metal with a wooden spoon.

Well, I do.

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:47

As someone said on twitter, it's the sighingnon radio 4'drama

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:48

Lol at wooden spoon

nevergoogledragonbutter · 06/01/2011 17:48

lmao at CSE mongers. very good.

however, i bloody love eastenders.

won't be boycotting however, as i admit to being entertained. i wouldn't put down a book if the plot didn't go where i'd like or if i didn't think it was realistic enough.

it's a story.

hobbgoblin · 06/01/2011 17:49

OP, you need to gavel a bit more

WadyaFink · 06/01/2011 17:49

ok perhaps I stand corrected about BMC, it's just that Jake's only been Jake since NYE which is about the time BMCers started flouncing (quite rightly too, fancy having to pay to play Shock)

sorry then, back to 'stenders

as you were..

Nobody can bring down the gavel on 15 million viewers. Not with any credibility.

The Archers is GETTING the gavel, though.

(No, that wasn't the farmer closing his gate!)

NewYearNewPants · 06/01/2011 17:52

Never listened to R3 drama. Didn't know it existed! Will tune in and let you know what us thickos make of it Grin

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 06/01/2011 17:54

Jake

Whilst I am enjoying this bit of banter between the more senstive Mn'ers and your obviously bored self I must say that this thread says more about you than that of the Eastenders viewers...

I'm intrigued, what television (if any of course) do you watch??

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:58

Read the thread. We've done that

OP posts:
MissyPie · 06/01/2011 17:59

sorry, lost interest half way through...

Rannaldini · 06/01/2011 17:59

hold on did someone use a gavel on the archers?

i love the shit sound effects btw
and the amount it pisses of my h

usualsuspect · 06/01/2011 18:02

Do they still use coconut shells for horses hooves as sound effects

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 18:03

Admittedly I'm on a wind up BUT do you think there has ever been a thread where the op says for eg. " I think it's common to use dummies " and the issue has been discussed without slagging the op?

OP posts:
JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 18:04

And not that I'm averse to a soupçon of slaggarge

OP posts:
AbsofCroissant · 06/01/2011 18:04

Would they need to? Are there still horses in radio shows?

nevergoogledragonbutter · 06/01/2011 18:06

I'm not sure I would like that forum jake.

usualsuspect · 06/01/2011 18:07

I'm not sure ,is the archers not set in the country ? I've never listened to it

southeastastra · 06/01/2011 18:08
