The problem with this thread is that everytime someone tries to defend eastenders I think they're taking the piss.

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:28

I Sky Plus 'Enders (well, did Sky Plus it) and watch it at my leisure, so it's really only equivalent to watching one long-ish film per week.

It's 2011. Nobody has to be a slave to telly schedules!

(Corrie is for ancient northerners a different demographic than mine - so cannot possibly comment).

usualsuspect · 06/01/2011 17:30

But Eastenders is on the BBC ...I thought the BBC was acceptable on MN

NewYearNewPants · 06/01/2011 17:30

No, what I mean is:

you are perfectly entitled to say they are rubbish.

But it doesn't make me thick if I like them.

Are you bright enough to understand that, smallwhitecat?

NewYearNewPants · 06/01/2011 17:32

The Archers is twaddle.

Radio 4 'drama' is unbearable, full stop.

Rannaldini · 06/01/2011 17:33

wot have playgounds got to do with ee?

too clever for the likes of lil old me

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:33

I really have no idea what you mean by playgrounds that charge admission. Like a wacky warehouse?

usualsuspect - No, only BBC4 is entirely acceptable these days.

usualsuspect · 06/01/2011 17:34

I think she means the others that have defected over here for some reason

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 06/01/2011 17:34

BBC3 is practically ITV.

NewYearNewPants · 06/01/2011 17:35

PMSL@ 'more elevated intellectal circles'

Oh deary.

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:35

OP posts:
Rannaldini · 06/01/2011 17:36

the others as in ghostlike others?

v confused

BuzzLightBeer · 06/01/2011 17:36

its their time to waste isn't it? whats it to you?

foxinsocks · 06/01/2011 17:37

I don't know anyone under 65 who listens to the Archers. Are you in free bus pass territory SWC?

crap tv is marvellous for escapism, I agree with fallot. There's nothing like a hard day of work then coming home and letting your brain switch off to some crap like Australian masterchef/new top model/ee for 30 mins. Marvellous. It may be a waste of time but I need a wind down 30 mins after work tbh.

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:37

Lol at you all. It's reassuring to see mm changeth not

JakeBrake, for what it's worth, thank you for trolling in relatively sensitive style. Not everyone would have made that distinction.

JakeBrake · 06/01/2011 17:38
