According to It's Wiki page it ran from 1993 to 1997 originally.

Everything is just so .... old looking!

My 2 and a half boy loves come outside! Much better than rubbish zingzillas!

effymeffy · 04/01/2011 14:08

I think it's lovely and DD loves it, we even bought the DVD's a couple of years ago. They had a crisp one once but the BBC won't let them show it anymore it as it doesn't encourage healthy eating :(

ComeAlongPond · 04/01/2011 14:09

Come Outside is still on? WOW! I loved this as a child (I'm 20).

Oh, Pippin, Auntie Mabel... that polka dot plane...

I hope it stays just as it is! Though I do agree Auntie Mabel is batty.

DanceInTheDark · 04/01/2011 14:11

They can't show eating crisps but they can show someone nipping out for a new brush on an aeroplane??

Brum was shit too Grin

[must get out more]

ComeAlongPond. I feel very very very old

SparklyJules · 04/01/2011 14:13

We love Auntie Label! I had to laugh this morning though, she had to take the bus to return her library books because her plane wouldn't start!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 04/01/2011 14:18

Didnt Pippin die a year ago? :( I was most upset to read that!

Acanthus · 04/01/2011 14:19

Aw it's great. I always wonder how many toddlers have been traumatised by the one with a fire. Doesn't Pippin get stuck in a cupboard? Or is it Au tie Mabel that gets stuck? Had to turn that one off for both mine!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 04/01/2011 14:20

It's one of my DS's fave programes, he likes it far better than any of the other loud/colourful programes on CBeebies!

fortyplus · 04/01/2011 14:20

ds1 is 17 but we spent many happy hours watching Auntie Mabel and Pippin! Grin

JennyHaniver · 04/01/2011 14:22

It's been many a year since we werw a CBeebies household but i still shout 'time to fly' at 8:40am. And my DSs (10 & 8) don't even roll their eyes much.

pointydog · 04/01/2011 14:24

It was old-looking when it was new. That is a lot of its charm. I would still quite happily watch Come Outside today if I had a small child to watch it with.

TattyDevine · 04/01/2011 14:24

My son used to sing along to the theme, but got the words wrong

So he'd sing

"Look up, look down, look all around,
Up in the air...and fwy-awound.... (instead of "and on the ground"

Soooo cute

I like the one about poo. Its very informative Wink

JennyHaniver · 04/01/2011 14:24

Useful Holes

....fnaar

MamaVoo · 04/01/2011 14:25

Auntie Mabel and Pippin is one of our favourites. It's so bizarre, yet lovely and comforting too.

nannynobblystockingnobs · 04/01/2011 14:25

Come Outside is about the only thing I can tolerate on Cbeebies now. Leave it alone! :)

Onetoomanycornettos · 04/01/2011 14:27

Auntie Mabel is a goddess. I like that she is a sensible no-nonsense lady and is not a complete idiot (is it just me or are the presenter links on CBeebies getting worse and more patronising by the day?) and Pippin is just a very clever cute dog. I'd rather watch the very educational sewerage episode than Waybuloo and so would my children!

HouseOfBambooootiful · 04/01/2011 14:29

I love it (DD also does, but that's incidental Wink ). It's so different to the rest of what's on - the films of how they make this or that are genuinely interesting.

I remember with special fondness the 'how they make welly boots' one and 'what happens to your poo' where they visit the sewerage works.

GooseyLoosey · 04/01/2011 14:30

Mine (now 6 and 7) used to love it too. It was one of the few programmes that they both agreed on.

saffy85 · 04/01/2011 14:32

They updated the Brum theme tune and there's loads of weird people in odd clothes dancing about like they have tarantulas in thier knickers Hmm very annoying.

Can't stand most of the presenters on Cbeebies, they seem to try too hard wheras "Aunty Mabel" seems to have a natural talent for talking to a young audience without patronising them like many seem to, like that Katie monster on I can cook. Grrrr!

Raahh · 04/01/2011 14:33

When Ds was little, he learnt a lot of useless information from Come Outside, about sewage, about street lights, how to make a brown teapot or wellies. It is dated, and probably not very 'green' in the scheme of things but Pippin is a very cute dog!

The songs are terrible thought! Very tuneless and a bit laboured Grin

(I think Jonathon Cohen who played piano on 'Play away' and 'Play School' has something to do with the music? )

HouseOfBambooootiful · 04/01/2011 14:33

In fact, I reckon they should put it on CBBC as well - there's lots there for an older child to appreciate and learn.

Raahh · 04/01/2011 14:36

Of course, i also remember Linda Baron clutching David jason to her large bosom in 'Open all hours' when she was nurse Gladys...Grin

Jude89 · 04/01/2011 14:39

I LOVE come outside.

It Was Auntie Mabel who got locked in the cupboard and her Chip Pan caught fire; Pipin went to the fire station to get help (thankfully)

Also loved "what happens when you Poo"

saffy85 · 04/01/2011 14:43

I was a little Envy (I mean sick not jealous btw) at the poo episode but when you think about it most children aged around 3-6 are fascinated by poo. I know my DD is Hmm No surprise that she loves this episode!
