It's been up for weeks. It looks rubbish, most of the baubles are off due to the cats or DS pulling them off.

I just can't be arsed to wait the 12 days to take it down!

DH thinks I'm being a scrooge, bah humbug.

saythatagain · 01/01/2011 11:21

Ours is coming down today too. Been up since early December - tis time! And, I'm back at work on Monday Sad

CuppaTeaJanice · 01/01/2011 11:21

I agree with your DH - I'd keep mine up all year if I could!!

Can't you put the balls back up?

borderslass · 01/01/2011 11:23

Ours came down yesterday my sister phoned last night and told me it was bad luck bollocks rubbish I told her its only unlucky if you leave it up after the 6th of January.

claikit · 01/01/2011 11:23

Want our down, fed up with the clutter but friends coming to stay on Monday night and dds want it to stay up till after that. Hmmph.

tyler80 · 01/01/2011 11:24

I'm afraid I have no sympathy with people who put their tree up way to early and then get sick of it well before the Christmas period is over, so I'd agree with your DH. YABU

Mrsfred · 01/01/2011 11:24

Not at all. Mine came down on Tuesday. It was completely dead and I filled an entire hoover bag getting rid of the needles left underneath.

It's not exactly a law, the 12 days thing. Ours would be down except I haven't been arsed to do it yet. Small child lost interest as soon as the presents were removed, it's serving no further purpose as far as I'm concerned. Take it down! 12 days after Christmas always seems like clinging onto the Christmas dream, to me.

borderslass · 01/01/2011 11:29

mine was only up a few days before christmas put it up under duress from DD2 [15]

TheVeryLazyLadybird · 01/01/2011 11:32

I want to take ours down, but the truth is, I just can't be arsed!
(And its hiding the patch on the wall that hasn't been painted. Now I'll have to look at it again and feel like I ought to paint it...)

HotSprocket · 01/01/2011 11:34

I took mine down yesterday after dd ate some and had to be taken to a+e Confused

I was sick of it anyway. It gets in the way of the tv so the remote doesn't work. I can only put up with that for so long Grin

piprabbit · 01/01/2011 11:37

Ours went up on the 18th December, so we'll be waiting until Twelfth Night to take it down.
Not long now.

OldAndUngraceful · 01/01/2011 11:47

Mine down today!

apple99 · 01/01/2011 11:48

Ours is coming down tomorrow. Christmas cards came down on the 28th and we had a birthday and anniversary so not enough room for all those cards plus christmas ones. Really don't like the tree up in the new year and have always taken it down on the 1st or 2nd.

mangoandlime · 01/01/2011 11:52

Mine came down yesterday. We woke up to a new year and a clutter free living room. There aren't any hard and fast rules really are there. Your house, after all - do as you see fit !

2shoes · 01/01/2011 11:53

yanbu
our decs are

now all down

shivster1980 · 01/01/2011 11:54

Ours is back buried in the garden today. Crib stays still Epiphany though.

YANBU

shivster1980 · 01/01/2011 11:54

'stays still' should be 'stays till' sorry!

RockinRobinBird · 01/01/2011 11:55

Ours came down last night and that was outstaying its welcome! It only went up 3 days before Christmas so its stay was short and sweet.

Mum72 · 01/01/2011 11:57

Would like to take mine down but the rest of the family dont agree.

What gets my goat is that its ME that will do the taking down but they still want it to remain up!

I have 2 trees as well Sad. Am back to college Wednesday so it will have tobe down before then.

Tolalola · 01/01/2011 11:58

Ours is coming down today. It's DS's birthday on Monday, so we want some separation, iyswim.
