I am absolutely SICK AND TIRED of reading about Muslims this, Islam that.

I am SICK of reading from ignorant morons on Facebook "Send Muslims home".

AIBU to think that this is ridiculous, where would we send "Muslims" home too? Islam isn't a race/nationality it's a religion...

What on earth is with the hatred? Afghanistan haven't threatened Britain-and most people think that the Army is there to "protect" Britain...

YANBU. Why is it "Muslim terrorists" when the IRA weren't referred to constantly as "Catholic terrorists". We didn't hate all Catholics just because some of them wanted to blow us up. Why hate all Muslims?

It is racism when people think they are refering to a race. They are wrong but their attitude is definitely a racist one.

Well it isn't just Islam they object to. It's anyone of any Middle Eastern/Indian look of origin.

Are they not aware of caucasian British Muslims? WHere would they "send" them to?

I just don't understand their line of thinking...considering the July attacks were by British Muslims, I'm not sure where the hatred and yes, racism, of the Middle East comes from.

I think it's racism in so far as the fear when people say 'muslim' they actually are thinking of 'Dirty Foreigners Living in our Country / Abroad with non-white skin.'

I have a facebook 'friend' who is supportive of the EDL. I do my best to just ignore it tbh otherwise people will think I'm a soppy white liberal. I am, but I think there's some Romany blood in there somewhere.

Funnily enough I watched something on the BBC about the Welsh DL (part of the EDL). I was appalled by the fact people even think like that, talk about naivety on my behalf.

I just don't understand the mentality. And if I dare say something against it, I get labelled with being a "Muslim apologist".

I get confused about where we would be sending people... In the case of our family, there is so much mixed heritage we would have to chop people up into tiny bits in order to send the right proportion back to each country. I would end up in about four (more if you go back a few generations), D cousins would be three each and so on. Sounds a bit complicated to me.

and I know that British soldiers die and it's all very sad, but to be honest, the deathcount for the war in 10 years is 500. 500 too many yes, but still only 500. They don't tend to report how many Afghan (civilians) are killed in the crossfire. I'd bet my bottom dollar it's in the thousands.

And thus, we have (none white) men being the subject of abuse, and women who wear headscarves, and I just don't understand what the big deal is.

I have a dear Muslim friend who was born about five miles from where she currently lives. Would love to know where they would "send her back" to! Together, we are working on a little project which any other Muslims on this thread may wish to adopt- school visits. She has already done one visit to a nursery/reception class and will do more next term, (Insh'Allah, as I know she would like me to write!) The more the children at local schools meet Muslims and learn about their faith, the less scary they will be, it's as simple as that.

However, for some of their parents there's not much that can be done. If you printed the headline "Muslims are neither a threat to you nor potential suicide bombers" on a daily basis, they would still only see the words "Muslim", "threat" and "bombers".

poppy burning muslims, it was 35. I was shocked to find a group on facebook had been deleted for saying it wasn't the whole religion burning poppies; it was removed for being "OFFENSIVE". ? But the page saying that we should burn islam people for 35 burning a poppy wasn't. It's so horrible. It's irritates the shit out of me tbh.

can you also confirm that Christian Jewish Hindu and the like are allowed in Muslim schools so that Muslims are able to learn about other faiths and by that I mean schools in Muslim areas and the special schools that Muslims have set up to educate their children

I ask this as my 10yo Niece has a Muslim friend she invited the little girl to her party and my sister extended the invitation to her when her mother was present as she wanted to find out about dietry needs etc, only to be told very rudely by the mother that her daughter was not allowed in the homes of Kaffirs (her own words) I assure you that if my sister has dared say her daughter was not allowed to go into an Asian home and used the P word she would have been arrested as a racist.

I respect the Muslim faith the same as I respect all faiths but sadly in some cases Muslims are not taught to respect faiths other than Islam.

Islandlady-no, of course I can't. I can only speak for the C of E voluntary aided school with whom I am working. It would be ridiculous for me to do otherwise since I have never had contact with any other school. If you wish t know their opinions, please ask them.

Yes, there are bigoted, racist Muslims. There are bigots and racists in every strata of soceity. I take no responsibility for what white, British bigots say and I do not expect my Pakistani Muslim friend to be responsible for Muslim bigotry in which she had no part.
