just wondering what age you left your baby for first time over night? ive left my 4.5mth dd with my parents or his during the day before when working, but never over night and on the 29th my oh sisters party is a hours drive away and we would have to stay over night and leave my dd with my mum, i think we going to go but still feel little bad about leaving her all day and night, going to miss her laods and its not like im that near, so was just interested to see when evryone else left their babies over night for first time?

Only when I went into labour. Apart from that not until they were over five and spent their first night at grannie's which they have done regularly in the school holidays ever since. I didn't want to leave them before that. Oddly they are both very independent and happily went on sleep overs from about 6 and have both been on holidays with school etc. and have never looked back Smile.

My mum got tons of help from her mum (my grannie). I got very little - 100s of miles away and mil disinclined and my mum looking after her mum by then. Hope to be able to help the dc much more when the time comes.

My Dcs spend every Friday night with my DPs in the summer as they have a caravan and DS loves being outside. We have to try and drag him back. It is nice for DH and me to have some time and know the kids are enjoying themselves.

DS is going to my mum on saturday for the night. Can't wait. No that I'm excited about going out or anything interesting like that. i just like waking up when I'm ready rather than when a small child yells for me.
