yes, I know he was a pop 'star'. And he's dead clever. But then the same applies to Brian May, and he's not all over the BBC like norovirus

[meh]

Catrinm · 06/12/2010 17:37

I love him, YADBU

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:38

right, I shall put you down as a "no" then

any more?

OP posts:
BalloonSlayer · 06/12/2010 17:42

Was he a pop star? What in? < rushes to google>

To myself I call him Brian Botox as his face seems to be stuck in that smile.

Catrinm · 06/12/2010 17:43

Yes. I also love Ben Goldacre . Why you no likey?

bibbitybobbitysantahat · 06/12/2010 17:44

Can't stick him myself. He makes me cringe. So that'll be a Yes from me.

BalloonSlayer · 06/12/2010 17:44

Have googled. Oh I SEE. < shrug >

thell · 06/12/2010 17:44

I'm a 'no' too - he's just like my husband's best friend, so we always grin when we see him...from his doctorate in Physics to his fulsome lips!!

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:45

BBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIBBBBBBBB!

how the hell are you?

where've you been?

OP posts:
GrimmaTheNome · 06/12/2010 17:46

I prefer him on the radio as then you can't see his age-inappropriate T shirts.

So which scientist would you like to see all over the BBC? (popstar status optional)

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:46

Catrinm- it just seems as though every time I turn on the radio- 4 or 6- there he is

OP posts:
twirlymum · 06/12/2010 17:49

How dare you criticise PROFESSOR Brian Cox!!!!!!!!!

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:50

Grimma oh I don't know. I haven't really thought it through. Just some different ones, I suppose

....or even none? just lots of cartoons and pop music and that

OP posts:
Meglet · 06/12/2010 17:51

If Brian May was presenting we wouldn't be able to see the solar system as his hair would get in the way.

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:51

oh gosh sorry!

I genuinely didn't realise he was a Prof. Now I feel quite bad

of course I meant PROFESSOR Brian Fucking Cox Wink

Chil1234 · 06/12/2010 17:53

I've only heard him on the radio. Apparently he's (shock, horror) a good-looking scientist but that's rather lost through that medium :)

PaisleyLeaf · 06/12/2010 17:55

I liked his RTS lecture that was on TV the other night.
I Sky plussed it - might even watch it twice.

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:56

I think they should use real scientists/historians and other experts on telly, not cute ones- ie man ones with egg on their ties, women ones peering through their specs, and all absent minded and a bit spitty...

OP posts:
scallopsrgreat · 06/12/2010 17:56

I thought you meant this Brian Cox and wondered what on earth you were on about! Showing my age there!

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:57

...oh fuck. I probably mean Patrick Moore, don't I

Grin
OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 17:58

oh I thought it was that Brian Cox for some time, scallops- got a bit confused for a few months back there....

OP posts:
giveitago · 06/12/2010 18:00

Lovely mouth.

bruhaha · 06/12/2010 18:03

He gets on my last nerve! His constant smile grates - no one can be that happy all the time. Dh likes him and finds him interesting - probably cos he's a physicist too!

GrimmaTheNome · 06/12/2010 18:05

My DH watched The Wonders of The Solar System this weekend - HD boxed set. He claims he finds Cox irritating and only watches for the science.

SpringHeeledJack · 06/12/2010 18:07

maybe tis a rictus grin thing like Tony Blair and he can't help it

mind you I would probably be quite happy myself if I was on the telly and radio all the time, I was dead brainy and everyone (well, nearly) thought I was fit

Caboodle · 06/12/2010 18:09

Would rather watch / listen to him than be subjected to lots of the crap on TV. We love him...clever and beautiful (but then I also adore Steven Fry) Grin
