Where's the snow

Just checked the weather forecast and here in SW London we are supposed to be having heavy snow showers. Just looked out and it's wet and drizzly. AIBU to wish the dc were waking up to a winter wonderland - and possible a "snow day" for us all?

Yanbu i feel the same! Light covering here in garden but looks wet and drizzly out front, we are in north London islington! I think snow is about to start again at 7 am!

onceamai · 30/11/2010 06:32

Well I wouldn't mind if the forecast said wet and drizzly but it says heavy snow showers at 6am.

you can no longer make out our garden furniture - full size table and 6 chairs - it's just lumps in the snow

wineoclockyet · 30/11/2010 06:39

Very true mutt last winter London was a disaster zone! But still I want to make a snowman with my dc!

Got about half an inch in Sussex, I want at least 6".
There's enough to get the children excited anyway. Smile

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2010 06:51

you are all mad!

Tootlesmummy · 30/11/2010 06:53

We're up to about a foot and a half just now, I can't get my car out and I'm fed up already.

Goblinchild · 30/11/2010 06:53

says the polar bear, lamenting the snow. Grin

ChippingIn · 30/11/2010 06:54

It's snowing here now GrinGrinGrin

There's a light dusting settling on the grass - but it's still melting on contact with the road.

I've just been outside drawing in it Grin

ChippingIn · 30/11/2010 06:57

I tell you what is driving me insane already though and that's the news coverage - yes it's snowing, yes it's November, yes - yes - yes... this is the THIRD year (at least) that we've had snow... get the hell over it - it's not that newsworthy! Anyone would think it was an unexpected natural disaster... it's not, it's snow - everyone has had a good few months to get used to the idea! Arghhhhhhh

SandStorm · 30/11/2010 06:58

Got even less than half an inch in my part of Sussex. A light dusting and all schools open as usual.

mumbar · 30/11/2010 06:59

Oh ChippingIn - where are you?

We've gone from yellow to green to orange on the met office map - and still no Farking snow. Envy

'I want snow. I want snow' Grin

And I'm a very southern 'jessie' Wink

Jojay · 30/11/2010 06:59

Yay! Snow here in Warwickshire. Not enough to be inconvenient, but it looks damn pretty - or it will when it gets light!

ChippingIn · 30/11/2010 07:02

Mumbar - somewhere white Grin Have Pm'd you!

QueenStromba · 30/11/2010 07:04

I'm in SW London and it did snow quite heavily at about 5am. Didn't really stick because it had been sleeting for a few hours beforehand.

onceamai · 30/11/2010 07:12

I must have missed it and have been up for hours or perhaps you're in a different bit of SW London.

In my bit of Herts we've got about 1cm... drifting up to 3cm in places!!!! Shock I predict utter chaos :)

mumbar · 30/11/2010 07:12

ChippingIN - Pm'd you back Grin

Still nothing here - I'm like a child waiting for it to happen - although the council have said they will not be closing schools this year. Theres my day off cancelled Angry Grin Wink

I'm going to Lapland in 18 sleeps - hope I don't have to wait until then.

wineoclockyet · 30/11/2010 07:12
