One of my favouritist ever pics has a smiling Laura Bush in a winning pastel jumper and smart trousers smiling away whilst seated next to an entirely shrouded figure, all in black apart from a little pink breast cancer ribbon, promoting breast cancer awareness together.

Umami · 06/01/2011 15:38

It was one of those weird coincidences Hully. I have not looked at my Twitter for aaaages, and then someone mentioned that Ben Goldacre tweets some good tweets so I nipped over there to have a look and Lo! There were half a dozen recent Tweets from IAmHully.

Shpooky.

Umami - do you tweet? I've gone orf it already a bit. You get odd lines from other people's conversations and I don't seem to have anything to say..hard to believe, I grant ye.

Jins · 06/01/2011 15:43

I can't really get enthusiastic about twitter. I find it very confusing

pagwatch · 06/01/2011 15:43

Poor riven. You had to contemplate the married to Dave scenario for a nano second there, didn't you?
Grin.

Fab photo. The smile is a wonderful thing

Hullygully · 06/01/2011 15:43

Oh look, our little threadlet is in most active, it must be having palpitations.

BeribbonedGibbon · 06/01/2011 15:43

that'll do just fine thank you Jins

Pagster - sods law that is. You could have waited and hour or so and they would still have ran in just as you clicked!, I bet they didn't even notice Wink

Hully me ol' mucker! did you have a nice time away? Smile I have yet to sample the delights of tweeting. Giblet is doing lots better thank you Smile, she has referral coming in next few weeks but started gingerly reaching out on Christmas day (best present ever!) so fretting slightly less.

BTW chaps, If there is a good time to pay attention, it is while typing "Grandfather clocks" into an image search.

I have a very small copy all faded from a paper over my desk. Now I can print out a huge technicolour one and enjoy it all the more.

Rejoice, rejoice

So come on, who got what?

Hullygully · 06/01/2011 15:47

Hey Gib, I had a funny old time. All our plans went wrong and then I was terribly ill, but Chrim day was nice and I did get a giant urn and force people to play my fave Chrim games. How they enjoyed themselves.

pagwatch · 06/01/2011 15:50

Arf at grandfather clocks Grin

Lovely news about giblet, gibb.

Prezzies. ... I got some jammies and dressing gown, Tim minchin and Miranda DVDs, a big pile of fabulous books and it her bits and pieces.

Shit present of the season was ds1's rejection letter from oxford. Ah well.

Oh poor hully.

What are you keeping in the urn. Is the home of a small genie?

pagwatch · 06/01/2011 15:52

Riven poor you too!

We were all sick to but I was being stoic.

Hullygully · 06/01/2011 15:57

Everyone was ill, I don't know anyone who wasn't, AND mostly marooned by t'snow. Grim grange all round. I was stoic (ish) and ordered dh around with mucho graciousness.

My urn has spiders and ancient dust.

Fab news about Giblet, has she started meditating yet? (re being v laid back)

Paggy, bum about ds 1, I thought he had got into a second college? I confess I don't understand the system and that thread scared me to death. Has he got other options? Eng at Ox/Camb is ridiculously hard to wangle...
