Once met a Rick O'Shea... christened Richard but opted for Rick on his business card as he said it made him easier to remember. Since that was 20+ years ago... it worked!!!

I worked with a Petra Fried.

With the fad for kids' names that are just initials (TJ CJ etc) I give you - BJ.

Used to work with a guy who went into teaching with the surname Beer. The kids had a lot of fun with a Mr D.Beer - who promptly became Mister Duff Beer (from the Simpsons).

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/11/2010 08:42

I was taught by a
Mr Hiscock now that was bad enough but then when he wrote his name including his initials it became

Mr H.A.S Hiscock - can you imagine the fun we had?

and DP went to school with a Wayne King.

Two of my best mates at college had the surnames Money and Cash.

My dad was in the RAF with a guy called Woodcock, who could never understand why the (damn what's the RAF sergeant equivalent) kept calling him Oakhampton.

Anniegetyourgun · 08/11/2010 10:01

Oh, and we had two teachers both called Waters in my school - not related as far as anyone could tell. One was Mrs P Waters and the other was Mrs I Waters. Honestly!

QueenGigantaurofMnet · 08/11/2010 10:10

Psammead · 08/11/2010 12:56

Went to school with a Daley Bus.

Where I used to live there was a butcher's shop named after the owner. It translated into English as 'Evil Butcher'. Always imagined him with corpses hanging up in his cold room.

NKinDXB · 08/11/2010 13:20

I went on a few dates with Ewan King. (Many many years ago.) Wonder if it's the same one already mentioned?!

If his parents were set on the name they could at least have spelt it Euan.

AmazingDisgrace · 08/11/2010 13:44

Used to know someone called Vincent Vincent, knew someone through work years ago called John Uren
