I am quite new and keep seeing references to the mumsnet "heavies" on other threads. Am intrigued. Who are these people please?
"Heavy" because of strong opinions? Especially articulate posters? Nasty?
Or dos it refer to people officially involved with the actual running of musnet?
Please enlighten. I'd love to know who they are and why so called.

For me, Mumsnet Royalty are still here. They're the ones I was talking about in my post up there. The ones I look forward to reading, who make me nod my head in agreement, make me cry with laughter and splut my coffee over the keyboard with their wit, and sometimes make me cry with sadness, who make me think "I'd like you IRL" ..... The ones who I talk to dp about but because he thinks the web is a den of filth and iniquity I tell him " a friend of mine said" etc etc. ie, we probably all have different ideas of what MN royalty is.

newlurker · 30/10/2010 17:55

I am the OP.

I have just logged back on - DS was using the pc for a while.
had no idea what I was starting. I had just read the official buddy bench thread and saw the expression - used by AnyFucker - and it reminded me that I had seen allusions to this before. Just wondered what it was all about.

I have never heard of the Moldies or a splinter group as I only joined recently.

Used to go on netmums and got fed up with the lack of freedom of expression on the website. Someone told me mumsnet left more scope for debate and difference of opinion.

You can say that again!

I like meeting MNers. With the exception of one of them, the ones I've met are nothing like I imagined.

MumBarTheDoorZombiesAreComing · 30/10/2010 18:00

Babybarrister I recognise you if that hepls Smile.

It is from allergies tho I'm afraid, I pop along sometimes about DS but his allergies are mild and unknown. I do recognise you out side of there tho as know your name.

JoBettany · 30/10/2010 18:01

Newlurker, the very first time I posted (under a different name) I was called a c*!

I also think I was accused of infanticide too. Was lovely.

I had stumbled across a BF/FF debate.

What a mistake to make!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 30/10/2010 18:11

Grin Jo. When I first found mn I blundered right into the middle of a huge unfight and was so shocked that I staggered back to my other forum at the time and, shell shocked, proclamed mners a load of bitches Blush

The fallout from that was so bad I was curled up in the foetal position for days Wink

HecateQueenOfWitches · 30/10/2010 18:12

Bunfight, obviously.

I seem to have a dodgy b

I was deleted for saying I thought someone was talking "rubbish" and derided for saying wtf with all the non-judging (which let's face it, is a bit fake at times.) (ie sleepsuit in Primark thread earlier this week)

JoBettany · 30/10/2010 18:20

Hectate, it took me a long time to recover too!

I had never been on any site before and it was my first time posting my opinion on line anywhere!!

I think I just whimpered.

AnyFuleKno · 30/10/2010 18:21

oh bucharest tsk tsk, should have known that sleepsuit one was going to turn into a bitchfest and avoided Wink

I mean grown women wearing feety jammies for goodness sake

Show of bloody stumps, which one exactly was as you imagined?

Better or worse?

I still dare not say anything inflammatory. I plan it all in my mind then wimp out at the last minute. Such a fence sitter, I know.

JoBettany · 30/10/2010 18:24

I do a lot of that now too OP. Post and run!

scaleymcnamechange · 30/10/2010 18:27

I have been deleted for saying someone was an ARSE.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 30/10/2010 18:32

Jo, do you ever avoid coming back to a thread just to piss off the person who is trying to have an argument with you?

No?

Me, neither.

2shoescreepingthroughblood · 30/10/2010 18:33

good grief who would want to be a mn heavy

newlurker · 30/10/2010 18:34

Hecate (love the name) hope you have uncurled now.
Jo - bf/ff - dangerous territory.

Think I will confine myself to the other forums (gardening or the like) or maybe answering other people's posts.
