not to know who the mumsnet heavies are?

I am quite new and keep seeing references to the mumsnet "heavies" on other threads. Am intrigued. Who are these people please?
"Heavy" because of strong opinions? Especially articulate posters? Nasty?
Or dos it refer to people officially involved with the actual running of musnet?
Please enlighten. I'd love to know who they are and why so called.

Riven do you remember names of posters where the names are funny or where the posters are funny?

FolornHope · 30/10/2010 17:40

oh where is the OP
and why is she anonymous?
rubs chin

MumBarTheDoorZombiesAreComing · 30/10/2010 17:40

I've never heard of the 'heavies' either.

I agree there are well known posters who have been here for many years, yes they do chat to each other, agree, but I guess when a group of people all convene repeatedly on the same threads its because they all feel the same way about something - not for bullying.

I often don't get mnay replies to my threads but the less YABU the better. Grin

I love the posters who deliver one liners - usually takes me a while to work out the meaning so I guess I'm in the dense brigade too Wink

shiney hope my posts didn't come across as attacking anyone in particular. I'm trying to say that where there are popular posters it's usually because they contribute a lot. It's how other people behave with regards to this that could be seen as a problem (i.e. either leaping ferociously to the defense of someone or on the other hand setting themselves up as a nemesis and shooting all of their posts down)

As for my name, I was reading Molesworth at the time, humourous books about a boy at boarding school who I identify with as both ill informed and imperious, bad speller with inflated ego ahem, and it's a catchphrase of his ...i.e. Mumsnet is full of heavies as any fule kno

Now I have bored everyone I am off to another thread to cause trouble there instead

FolornHope · 30/10/2010 17:43

THERES a thing Grin

Bucharest · 30/10/2010 17:43

Of course there are more well-known posters...and those are the ones I look forward to reading (and secretly hoping one day they'll want to be my friend )

The people who get arsed off about other people's popularity have serious ishoos and would probably be better off sat in a corner eating worms than participating in forums.

And I have never ever no not never noticed a "gang" of people jumping on a poster. On Babycentre it's a way of life, but I've never seen it here. Meh.

FolornHope · 30/10/2010 17:44

lets start some random stirring threads and then not reply
( or at least till we have had time to change our names back)

Bucharest · 30/10/2010 17:44

I knew what "Anyfulekno" was. I belong y'see. Grin

I've been using forums since the internet began...well almost (I is very old) and there are always a handful of posters that have been there longer, are more well known etc etc. It's natural. It's not good, it's not bad, it just happens. It's only when they're nasty that it's a problem. Otherwise just do what you're doing and don't worry about it.

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 30/10/2010 17:47

Can I start a thread 'who's Cod'. OP: I'm but an innocent newbie and I hear tell of her all the time. What is she/it? And why does everybody go on about her.

Then we can all lie and say Cod was a MNer who shagged carlk left to start mummyhunniesrus.com

I will be changing my name to MummytoFifi.

Can't bear threads like these

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 30/10/2010 17:54

The country divides roughly into two groups. Those who don't know where Ipswich was and those that don't want to.

That was a weird time.
