Mitchum, smart solid deodorant for men (what's the difference for women?)

I bought two of these stick deodorants, the deodorant part fell off both of them, making them unusable, when I rolled it up, and no I didn't roll it up too much.

Anyone else?

Any product that swears it will tame my oily skin and give me matte finish all day long. Umm no. Usually by about 45 mins later I have a shiny face and greasy nose/forehead/chin again. And yet I keep trying...

SoleSource · 29/05/2013 11:34

I love my JML Dri Buddi

Inertia · 29/05/2013 11:57

Henry hoovers are too top-heavy, they topple over when you just want to pull them along.

And I agree with Couthy about nappy bins - not everyone can have an outdoor bin, and why would you want pooey nappies in your kitchen bin ? Mind you there was a lot less to get rid of when we went to cloth nappies, mainly just the liners.

vladthedisorganised · 29/05/2013 12:32

Sainsbury's fish cakes. Huge, expensive and taste weird.
Method bathroom cleaner smells of feet and doesn't work all that well, which is a pity as I like the idea of it.

Pandemoniaa · 29/05/2013 12:51

I'm a great fan of Dyson products normally but do not buy the (very expensive) little cordless, hand-held vacuum cleaner. It lasts for precisely three minutes before needing to be recharged. And 3 minutes is a very short time indeed even for tiny little crumby tasks.

Pandemoniaa · 29/05/2013 12:52

Oh, and for anyone who used to love the M & S Gastropub Spanish Meatballs with sauteed spuds, forget them. The "new recipe" is utterly vile.

arethereanyleftatall · 29/05/2013 12:53

Anything which first made its appearance on Dragons Den. All really shoddy products.
Oh, and anything from Mamas and Papas.

An Argos Disney Princess duvet cover, bought for DD as a present. Weird sheeny nylony fabric that slides about and doesn't do the job of a duvet cover - duvet ended up bunched up at one end on the two occasions we used it. Luckily DD is now nearly 7 and won't go near anything princessy any more.

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 29/05/2013 12:58

Another vote for Cilit Bang, it caused my table top to bubble and peel. Had to buy a new table as it looked so bad.

Pampers nappies that leaked constantly with DS, swapped to Aldi own brand and Tesco value. Neither leaked, and DS stopped getting nappy rash, and his eczema on his bottom calmed down a lot too. Makes me wonder what was in the Pampers!

My new Dyson is no where near as good as the one I had before. I loved my Animal Dyson, but it packed in and I bought a normal Dyson. It is rubbish.

Hotpoint dishwasher - worked beautifully to start with. About 2 years after buying it smoke started pouring out of the top. Turned out the electrical mother board had set alight. Had the board replaced and about 2 months later same happened again! Luckily we were in both times and noticed the burning but it could have caused much worse damage had we been out / up stairs.
We now have a Bush, and so far so good... touch wood.

Hotpoint Washing machine - worked for about 18 months then had an error code, turned out it would need a new electrical panel - not a cheap job and just out of warrenty. Luckily this happened during a very good sale where I got a new machine (Bush) for cheaper than repairing the old one.

Bush washing machine - this is a difficult one. I like it, it is stylish, and it does what it says on the tin. However it takes blumming ages to wash anything. A 30 degree wash takes 2 hours! I wondered if our machine was faulty, but no, it states right there in the instructions that it takes 2 hours.

The Angry Birds Space duvet set from Next - £28 for a single duvet set, but DS really, really, really wanted one, so he got one for his birthday.

The quality of the material is shit. Really shit. grrrrr.

HazleNutt · 29/05/2013 13:13

Bare Minerals. Perfect if you are after dry, chalky, caked look with massive craters as pores. (yes, I DID buff).

pumpkinsweetie · 29/05/2013 14:30

Weird toystory and iron man duvet covers i bought from tesco. Looked lovely in packaging but made out of that god awful slidy slippy nylon crap that doesn't want to keep the actual duvet inside!!!

Pink lcd tv from toy r us, had it a month and it already has two prominant lines on it no matter what channel it is on!

Rotastak hamster space & princess cage, pita to clean, the water bottles needed replacing twice, arse to put together, arse to take apart. Giving away shortly, all £62 worth!Confused

higgle · 29/05/2013 14:35

Tesco onions in a bag. They all have soft middles, yet the lose ones are OK

IAmNaturallyThisOrange · 29/05/2013 14:49

Ruff and tuff dog bed, lasted 1 night

When returned, lady on checkout said she wished they didn't claim to be indestructible Angry

lurkingfromhome · 29/05/2013 15:13

Any supposed miracle hair-straightening products: John Frieda 3-day straight - 10-minutes straight then 3-day frizz more like ...

salsmum · 29/05/2013 15:36

Any cat collars with a 'quick release' catch...my fence/tree climbing 18 month old Siamese cat has lost 5...and DP now 'buys in bulk' Confused

expatinscotland · 29/05/2013 15:39

Steam cleaners, all of them.

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 29/05/2013 15:39

Why are you guys faffing with Ped eggs and foot files? You need a Micropedi I got one for for christmas last year and I love it. All my hard skin has gone. I use it once a week and its addictive. The amount of white powder it scrapes off is phenomenal. They cost around £40 but I've regularly seen then for half price in Boots. This will be the first year I'll happily wear sandals. :)

Heartbrokenmum73 · 29/05/2013 16:04

YY to the crappy, slippery nylon-type duvet covers! Bought DS a Spongebob one (from Argos) and the quilt just bunches up in the bottom of it. What is that all about? Spent the same amount on a gorgeous Thomas the Tank set from M&S and it's just fab - lovely material, different images on each side so you can flip it, buttons at the bottom , love it.

Crinkle77 · 29/05/2013 16:15

I agree with the bobbleoff. It didn't actually remove any of the bobbles

EggsMichelle · 29/05/2013 17:06

My DH loves his pedegg Hmm

Indistructable dog toys... LIES!!! The only think that has stood the test of time (and teeth) are a puppy kong (adult kong destroyed) and a massive piece of rope.

Any non stick oven trays. All crap.

ColdHandLou · 29/05/2013 17:12

Heartbrokenmum73 - Benefit Porefessional is very good at stopping shine, though it is ££

ColdHandLou · 29/05/2013 17:17

YES I thought Bare Minerals was rubbish too - though I did manage to get a refund on it Grin

Khaleese · 29/05/2013 17:38

Agree the gap pj's need sizing up one, but i do like the slim fit.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 29/05/2013 17:41

Ooooh, thanks for that ColdHandLou, will look into that.
