I just want to reiterate Mrs De Vere and Sassy Susan and Loudlass's feelings (sorry if I have missed anyone but I couldnt keep reading)
I have posted this a few times now, my sils decided to intentionally meet up for their kids to play together whilst DN (now 21) had the pox.
Other DN is now 20 - DN aged 21 is a university student studying to be a nurse, DN aged 20 is at college too!
However, it's a college where she gets taught how to make toast, how to make a cup of tea, remember to turn the oven off (not that she could cook anything as she can't read and can't bend over as she loses balance) - she can't tell the time - she cried when my DD - then aged about 7 said whilst at Nannas - "Mum, its half past 3 - we're going to be late)
Because she can't learn it herself.
Yep - the pox - she has cerebellar ataxia and damage to her brain stem - from chicken pox that her mother, and her aunt INTENTIONALLY exposed her to.
They live with that - intentional exposure versus unintentional = devastating for the entire family.
DN aged 20 is mostly happy though and has a boyfriend (he has down syndrome and I LOVE him sooooooooooo much)
