Obviously not to playgroups etc, but I've got a baby at home and don't think I can cope otherwise. Is there anywhere we can safely go where there won't be lots of kids/pregnant women?

This thread is truly truly bizarre. FWIW I knew that chicken pox was harmful to pg women but I didn't realise it was harmful to others with health issues, mainly because it just hadn't occurred to me. That said, I wouldn't have taken DD out anyway. Now I know how harmful it can be and will remember when the time comes that she gets it.

And when she comes home later I will give her an extra tight cuddle. She's not yet 3, I can't imagine losing a child and my heart goes out to people who have. This thread is one of MN's worst, but hopefully we've all learnt something.

This car crash of a thread is significant as a snap shot of what is going wrong in society generally imo.

We don't care enough about each other, we don't have enough empathy to treat each other with consideration. Or with humanity.

RedBlueRed · 02/10/2010 15:34

I must be feeling a bit 'deep' this afternoon, I shall take myself off out again and spread a little peace, love and harmony. Grin

DirtyMartini · 02/10/2010 15:41

WTF - she's banned?

Mnhq, maybe you cld give us a wee explanation as it seems a bit odd. < understatement>

mamadiva · 02/10/2010 15:41

Can someone link me the blog please?

Not because of the controversy but because I did genuinely want to read it but can't find it anywhere.

Cheers

deemented · 02/10/2010 15:46

You know what? Avril feels a bit hard done by does she? Feels maybe it's a bit unfiar that she's been singled out?

Well that's a shame. But she'll get over it.

Do you know whats really really unfair? That a healthy, beautiful three year old is dead. Torn from this life by a silly stupid fucking childhood illness that most people don't think twice about. What's unfair is that instead of tucking Catherine in at night and reading her a favorite story, Sassy gets to take flowers to her grave, and then has to turn round and leave them, and her beautiful girl there.

That's what you call fucking unfair. And she won't ever get over it.

Rockbird · 02/10/2010 15:47

Here mamadiva

Rockbird · 02/10/2010 15:47

Acually, maybe I shouldn't have linked to the front page of it... Confused

Sorry for delay in responding to this. We've banned Sassysusan as we found evidence that proved she was a troll. For this reason we've also deleted her posts.

What a crock of shite MNHQ. Peterpansmum has met her in real life.....I WILL show my arse in our local high street if that is proved to be correct.

A shame that you didn't ban Dizzymare a lot sooner last year - before she sucked myself and Deemented into her weird world....before she threatened to take her own life on New Years Eve if I went out and didn't stay talking to her. Many people told you that Dizzy was a troll and NOTHING was done for a long time.

Goblinchild · 02/10/2010 16:01

I'm sorry, but I don't understand.
Do you mean that you feel she was posting on this thread to cause upset and trouble, or do you mean that her story was a fabrication as well?
Or is it that she took an internal conflict and blogged it, including naming someone?

deemented · 02/10/2010 16:01

Evidence? Such as?

Sassybeast · 02/10/2010 16:01

The people bleasting about their 'public' posts, on a 'public' forum being regurgitated on a blog are pathetic. If you say it, take ownership of it.

Sassy - if you have been banned I am disgusted. I am also disgusted that Solidgoldbrass hasn't got a shred of integrity or decency that would mean she came back to this thread to apologise.

The only positive that has come out of this, is that through your strength, and that of the other mums, people ARE more aware of CP and the dangers it poses. So thank you for that.

shabbapinkfrog · 02/10/2010 16:03

Warning: My head will explode very soon unless we get the PROOF you say that will show that Sassy is a troll!

Exactly Beartricks!

arses · 02/10/2010 16:05

Sorry.. now I am going to have to say it because I found it here on MN.

Avrilheytch has PTSD and PND related to nearly losing her own daughter. So, I know it's not the same, but please do back off saying she'll just get over it.

I'm not really sure why Avrilheytch is bearing the brunt of this while SGB just gets off scot-free?

I will apologise if I am wrong but that really smells of bullshit.

deemented · 02/10/2010 16:06

Come on then MNHQ - proof?

And no... we won't just take your word for it...

shabbapinkfrog · 02/10/2010 16:06

I smelt a faint whiff of the same bullshit as well.

arses · 02/10/2010 16:07

Oh dear.. just saw about Sassy.

That can't be true. It just can't.

What an horrific thread.

QOD · 02/10/2010 16:08

I just want to reiterate Mrs De Vere and Sassy Susan and Loudlass's feelings (sorry if I have missed anyone but I couldnt keep reading)

I have posted this a few times now, my sils decided to intentionally meet up for their kids to play together whilst DN (now 21) had the pox.
Other DN is now 20 - DN aged 21 is a university student studying to be a nurse, DN aged 20 is at college too!

However, it's a college where she gets taught how to make toast, how to make a cup of tea, remember to turn the oven off (not that she could cook anything as she can't read and can't bend over as she loses balance) - she can't tell the time - she cried when my DD - then aged about 7 said whilst at Nannas - "Mum, its half past 3 - we're going to be late)
Because she can't learn it herself.

Yep - the pox - she has cerebellar ataxia and damage to her brain stem - from chicken pox that her mother, and her aunt INTENTIONALLY exposed her to.

They live with that - intentional exposure versus unintentional = devastating for the entire family.

DN aged 20 is mostly happy though and has a boyfriend (he has down syndrome and I LOVE him sooooooooooo much)
