DH has been working long shifts for the last 3 days and as such, has not seen DS at all. I am KNACKERED.

I would like to take my hat off to single parents who do this day in day out. UTTER RESPECT.

Pass me the wine.

Hi Fairydust, just to let you know that my ex H has not seen my son for over 3 years, his choice, by son desparately wanted to see him. I do not get every other weekend off, my parents are elderly so do not get a lot of family help. Believe me you really do not want to wish to be on your own, working full-time bringing up a teenager and running a house on your own is not what you think it might be.

RedBlueRed · 21/09/2010 21:57

Thank you for your sentiments OP. Smile

I think parenting in all its guises can be bloody hard work, you just have to read a few threads on Mumsnet to see how difficult it can be.

I'd join you in a glass of wine but the best I can manage is to suck on a piece of damp cloth...

My DH worked away a lot when our youngest was born-but she was the 4th.You've only got one, you don't know you're born!!

I take my hat off to single parents. All the ones I know do a really good job, and work full time. Aswell as all those endless jobs needing to be done over and over again, day after day.

OP - your post made me cry because tonight I am struggling and think single parenthood is frankly the shittiest thing I'll have a triple

Good grief. I turn my back from post for five minutes and you're all on the slammers and what nots. Cheers. Grin
