I love watching most stand up, but God that man makes my teeth chang. I can't even watch him for more than a minute. He just laughs the whole time and walks around a lot.

Am I missing something?

Where are the laughs? At the end?

I mean...sell out tours???

Que?

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/09/2010 14:21

And I SO fancy Dara O Briain.

kveta · 15/09/2010 14:24

oh, billy connolly on the subject of drinking the water abroad nearly made my dad crash once. he was actually crying with laughter, tears running down his face. I have never seen anyone quite so incapacitated by laughter before.

I wish BC was still funny...

NomDePlume · 15/09/2010 14:26

MM's voice and delivery style gets right on my tits

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 15/09/2010 14:32

Going to see Dara O Briain on Friday!

Not directly relevant to MM (am in the take him or leave him camp there), just wanted to gloat.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/09/2010 14:44

Envy professor.

tried to get so see DO'B in Cheltenham when he was here, couldn't get tickets for love nor money. Would love to see him live (think would wet myself in excitement if he asked me question)

LutyensCBA · 15/09/2010 14:45

ProfessorLayton, I've seen Dara O'Briain live a few years ago. He is amazing! So much of his act was improvised on the spot, reacting to audience contribution. I actually got a stitch in my side from laughing. Grin

Lucky you Smile

GabbyLoggon · 15/09/2010 15:05

Based on these set of posts MM can start looking for the mansion

We find him funny, but I can understand people who dont.

Tommy Cooper is said to be the one everyone liked.

StormyTeapot · 15/09/2010 15:12

I love MM Grin and laugh until I can't breathe when I watch him.

Love Sean Lock.

Love that guy who talks about torches with the power of a million candles (although I'm always exhausted at the end).

Used to love Jack Dee but he's a bit of a miserable git these days Grin

Lee Evans is ok...but I get totally distracted by the sweat and then start thinking about wringing his shirts out and before you know it I'm feeling queasy.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/09/2010 15:15

Every time I watch lee Evans I think 'imagine having sex with that' and it erases all the laughter out of the world.

FellatioNelson · 15/09/2010 16:29

I love Al Murray. I really do quite fancy him as well.

lottiejenkins · 15/09/2010 16:36

Lee Evans is a poor mans Norman Wisdom!!

UnePrune · 15/09/2010 16:39

I've been meaning to see 15 Storeys high for years (apparently all the comedians rate it really highly) but keep forgetting the name, so thanks Smile

I can't bear Al Murray. I've tried.

Or that Parsons bloke on Mock the Week. Who is he and what did he do to get on that show?

Agree about Bill Bailey Tinselworm - disappointing when you think about Part Troll and Bewilderbeast, which made me cry with laughter.

I once saw Jimmy carr talking about his face - he said (and fair play to him) that people were always accusing him of being snide or smug but it was just his face - he couldn't help it Confused

NomDePlume · 15/09/2010 17:31

Love, love, love Rhod Gilbert (torch with power of a million candles & the luggae handle). Seen his last 2 tours live. Genius, belly laughs.

Cannot stand Al Murray. DH likes him, I think can't bear the character of the pub landlord. Especially when you know he's an ex-boarding school, Oxbridge boy taking the piss out of what he perceives to be the stupid, bigotted working classes.

Twat

upahill · 15/09/2010 18:51

I just watched the power of a million torches on yutube after being reminded about it! The luggage problem is also funny.

MarsLady · 15/09/2010 19:02

We all like different things and find different things funny.

YUABVVVVVU but don't worry. If he doesn't float your boat, another comedian will. Smile

knit1purl1 · 15/09/2010 21:25

Well OP, YABVH as your thread has had me listening the whole of the Fist Of Fun R1 show (www.fistoffun.net/downloads-fistoffun.htm) and prepping my copy of Fifteen Storeys High for later.

So job done at cheering me up anyway. Feel slightly old mind, but happy. Thanks.

binjibaghi · 15/09/2010 21:36

love michael mcintyre and eddie izzard and rhod gilbert.

definite favourites not mentioned so far are the black books duo. dylan moran v funny but i have sore sides everytime i watch bill bailey especially the bit he does about the argos catalogue shops - the laminated book of dreams

poshsinglemum · 15/09/2010 22:10

I LOVE Bill Bailey

Olifin · 15/09/2010 23:45

Oooh yes, I like Bill Bailey. Love Rhod Gilbert; his luggage handle story made me howl.

Saw Rob Brydon live last year and he was tremendous; very funny and did songs and impressions. Great entertainment.

FellatioNelson · 16/09/2010 07:37

What is Fifteen Storeys High? I'm starting to feel I'm missing something important!

upahill · 16/09/2010 08:05

Fellatio

storeys high

cyb · 16/09/2010 08:06

ha! How weird thats ALMOST my email address

cyb · 16/09/2010 08:07

And I watched Al Murray last night and hooted most of the way through it. he looks like a big sweaty baby

jenniferturkington · 16/09/2010 08:13

I like MM- saw him live last year and it was very funny. But, nowhere near as funny as Peter Kay- we saw him before he took over the world, and it was the funniest hour and a half ever.
Also love Rhod Gilbert, Russel Howard and John Bishop. Never really watched Eddie Izzard, might get a dvd...

misdee · 16/09/2010 08:16

i find him funny for his head bobbing when he talks.
