I love watching most stand up, but God that man makes my teeth chang. I can't even watch him for more than a minute. He just laughs the whole time and walks around a lot.

Am I missing something?

Where are the laughs? At the end?

I mean...sell out tours???

Que?

Have to agree with the poster who said Kevin Bridges - he is very funny!

pointydog · 14/09/2010 22:14

I find kevin bridges very unfunny

pointydog · 14/09/2010 22:16

Not fond of Rhod either.

Speaking very loudly and slowly doesn't make it any funnier.

cyb · 14/09/2010 22:19

Une Prune I am seeing Stewart Lee in his Vegetable Stew tour in November-am very excited!

lightlyscrambled · 14/09/2010 22:23

MM is occasionally funny but mostly annoying. Somebody must have told him once that he had funny hair as it now virtually has credits on his shows. Quite boring.
Have never ever ever understood why Lee Evans is popular - a sweaty, panty, hyperactive face-pulling loon??? More like a kids' entertainer on acid.
Bah humbug [grumpy old woman face]

pointydog · 14/09/2010 22:26

Lee Evans fucks me right off, in fact

cyb · 14/09/2010 22:27

Lee Evans is always moaning about women which I find tiresome

WandrinStar · 14/09/2010 22:28

I'd far rather watch Michael M with his wierd voice and mincy walk than have to sit through that nasty little piece of work Jimmy Carr with his oh-so-hilarious rape jokes, but each to their own.

pointydog · 14/09/2010 22:30

I can never listen to Evans' breathy mumphing long enough to know what the heck he's going on about.

bananastainsonallmytops · 14/09/2010 22:32

I really couldn't stand to watch Micheal Mcintyre at first, his vioce annoyed me but then I managed to watch some more of his stand up and it does grow you, he is really humourous Grin

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 22:33

Oh I really like him! His energy is fab!

Roobie · 14/09/2010 22:34

Stewart Lee is sublime. Like MM too though so I guess it just depends on what tickles you - there's no real rhyme or reason.

bananastainsonallmytops · 14/09/2010 22:34

Oh and I think Lee Evans is very funny, his face expressions just add to the jokes if you listen. Each to thier own Grin

Has anyone watched Russell Peters or Russell Howard? I think both of them are very good.

Onestonetogo · 14/09/2010 22:35

Allora, YANBU. I watched his show recently and couldn't get my head around the moronic, dated brand of humour. Quite shocking!

Btw the comedians that I find funny are: Ricki Gervais, Dara O Briain (going to see him in a couple of days), Bill Bailey, Jerry Sadowiz (sp?), Chris Rock.

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 22:36

Just had to google Kevin Bridges as I couldn't put a face to the name but I agree that he is funny!

gibbberish · 14/09/2010 22:39

Really love MM! Makes me howl! So YABU!

I do wonder if humour changes with age. When I was (much) younger I used to absolutely love Victoria Wood. Now when I see reruns of her shows she barely raises a smirk.

So perhaps in a few years I'll wonder why I found MM so hilarious.

pointydog · 14/09/2010 22:41

Never found Victoria Wood funny.

I don't think my humour has changed much with age.

AnnieLobeseder · 14/09/2010 22:42

YABU. He's hilarious!

pissedrightoff · 14/09/2010 23:04

I love MMc, but as we seem to have a few Stewart Lee fans around....Tell me, please, do any of you remember him doing a gag about him being sick (90's show with him and another comedian, I forget who) It was genius. Please tell me someone remembers it.

knit1purl1 · 15/09/2010 00:07

Fist of Fun - with Stewart Lee & Richard Herring perhaps? Though could have been "This Morning with Richard not Judy".

Both best enjoyed with a flask of weak lemon drink.

OP you are not on your own. I find Billy Connelly really funny and Lee Evans has grown on me. I went to see hs O2 show in Nottingham and i laughed til my sides ached. I was glad he had a break in the middle as i was exhausted with laughing sooo much. Wish he didnt sweat so much though.

sixpercenttruejedi · 15/09/2010 00:23

pissedrightoff - don't remember that one but loved the one where he goes for Littlejohn.

sixpercenttruejedi · 15/09/2010 00:26

Quite like MM, even though he's a bit bland. He's not spiteful, and quite clean (mary whitehouse emoticon)
Can't abide Lee Evans btw.

UnePrune · 15/09/2010 06:53

I don't remember a routine about Stewart Lee being sick...but if you go on Youtube, there's a load of older stuff on there.

cyb you are in for a treat. Vegetable Stew was honestly brilliant. At the end, he was selling and signing copies of his book at the door, and I walked straight past him, unawares, because I was daydreaming about how good the show had been. Grr.
