ok, i am sorry, this isn't about bumsex at all, i just said that to make you all look.

dp and i are having a bit of an argument and i want to know who is right. have namechanged because dp thinks you will take my side otherwise

person A takes the child to school
person B takes the one to nursery

we both need to leave the house at 8.30ish

we both get up at around the same time.

person A gets up, makes their breakfast and sometimes makes breakfast for one or more of the children.
person B gets up makes their breakfast and breakfast for the children if person A hasn't done so (they usually haven't)

person A then goes upstairs and spends around 45 minutes in the bathroom. we have a downstairs toilet which person A refuses to use.
nobody else can use the bathroom to brush teeth/get showered while person A is using it

Person B gets all the children dressed, lunchbox made and self dressed.

this morning person B remarked that if it was a nursery day they wouldn't have enough time to have a shower as person A has spent too long in the bathroom.

Person A asks Person B if they think it's realistic to expect to be able to shower before they go out

what would your response be?

I'd make person A get up 45 min earlier than everyone else so that when everyone else is up the bathroom is vacant and he can make himself useful.
I'd also consider redecorating downstairs loo and moving nappy bucket to make downstairs loo more attractive. hogging bathroom on a morning when you just need the loo is unreasonable.

Sorry, A is allowed to shower, B is not??

That'll be sod right off then, A!

I think if person b is having bumsex during their lunch hour, it is not only realistic, but absolutely necessary that they have a shower before they go out.

Yes, I agree that anyone wanting the bathroom to themselves for 45mins needs to get up & get finished in there before anyone else gets up.

Pooing aside in our house the reason why DH takes longer in the bathroom than me is that he does everything in the bathroom, so comes out showered, shaved, dressed, whereas I shower, don a towel and go the bedroom to dry, get dressed, do make up.

Also in our house DH is a door locked kinda guy, and I would very rarely disturb him while in the bathroom, he just doesn't like it, plus he says it's his time for a bit of peace and quiet. I'm more of a door open carrying on the conversation kinda gal Grin

Neither do I shower every day, I'm just not that dirty Wink

Well done A though for coming on and sticking up for himself. DH would rather stick pins in his eyes than come on MN Grin (didn't mind the free champagne and hotel room when we went to the birthday party though Grin)

well, this morning went very well!

got up just after 7, i had shower while he went down and started tea/coffee breakfast off.

i came down and we all had breakfast together

he tidied away breakfast stuff and we got kids mostly dressed

he went for shower while i did ds1's lunchbox and finished dressing baby

and we still had 10 minutes before we needed to leave the house! hurrah!

i won't get too excited tho... we'll see how long we can keep it up

Well done for tackling it in such a mature way (eventually Grin)

Does Person B think that perhaps Person A is falling asleep in the shower for 44 of the 45 minutes that they are in the shower?
