I know lying is wrong anyway. But it's almost insulting to lie on here when, if necessary, people can see that you've lied as your words are stored forever! If you're going to lie, at least lie well Grin.

What bugs me is when people lie to get sympathy or admiration for something that is directly contradicted by something else they wrote and they can't possibly both be true.

And then everyone piles in and goes 'oh, poor you' and you know it's bullshit and you can't say 'yeah, but they're lying' because nobody will believe that you have a photographic memory and will think you're stalking the poster and also everyone will think you're being a bitch.

I think IABU. Oh well. I'll get over it.

he's 11 molly. how old is yours?

pokemon penpals always welcome - especially if they know how to use 'action replay' Grin

pagwatch · 02/09/2010 15:19

Thank you all. That is interesting.
Ds2 does not seemed bothered by it. But I wonder sometimes if it adds to his sensory overload IYSWIM.
I suspect he thinks we all have it and that I am just useless Grin

he is 10 next month and obsessed. Totally. He transferred all the passion he once had for trains (which was considerable and all-consuming) into Pokemon.

x post with your last one molly - so can mine! He makes me play it Hmm to look for pokemon and when you go through the grass (it is embarrassing how much I know about playing pokemon Blush) and find one, he pipes up with some weird word which turns out to be their name.

I honestly don't know how he does it!

He also can remember the date he was last ill (as in vomited) it was december something, some years ago - just asked him and he says 15th december 2008.

And he can describe things that happened when he was a toddler - he didn't talk for many years! at toddler age he was not responding to you at all, we thought he didn't understand a thing! he recently had a go at me about something that happened when he was TWO!! and he quotes promises you made. so no yes dear, next week/month/whatever for us Grin because he'll say "you said...."

mollyroger · 02/09/2010 15:32
Grin my ds remembers dates fantastically. i use him as my walking diary. ''are we doing anything on the 3rd of November then sweetie?'' ''No mum. We have so-and-so's party on the 2nd and you are going to the dentist on the 5th...'' etc.

Some people tell lies because they are nobs.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 02/09/2010 16:31

Grin molly. How alike they sound! ds1 is the only one of us who can remember what we've got on! I tell him appointments and he reminds me! I also make sure I introduce him to everyone because when I next meet them and I can't remember them Blush he can tell me who they are.

ds2, otoh, is in a world of his own. It's a nice world and he's happy, but he's no diary....

Grin

So do you think my ds1 and your lad might like to discuss pokemon?

daisy5678 · 02/09/2010 17:33

pag it's the written word. I'm not so good on the spoken word, though still remember a bit. It's come in useful for remembering which of 7000000 SEN documents I need to quote from in appeals etc. Wink but on here, it's just annoying for the above reasons.

I remember stuff on here because I also remember names and so seeing a poster's name brings back to me past stuff that I've seen that they wrote, iyswim.
