MN is quite happy to let innacurate thread titles be posted that could promote discrimination against disabled children and their famillies

FanjoForTheMammaries: You do love jumping to conclusions don't you?

That child most certainly was. He was also a bully. In fact, I think I can safely say that in all his aspects, he was positively vile!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/08/2010 13:03

why did you mention his ADHD then..maybe he was just vile Wink

Tiredmumno1 · 25/08/2010 13:03

"vinnie jones and davina mccall don't come as very 'bright' do they?"

Oh dear PawMum, now you've put your foot in it.

How do you know their educational backgrounds? They may have had learning disabilities or been diagnosed with some form of childhood disorder! Hmm

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/08/2010 13:03

oh, that's right, you mentioned it because you are a stirring troll, I forgot! Wink

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 25/08/2010 13:07

TSH - Innit ;)

Tiredmumno1 · 25/08/2010 13:07

TCNY - "Claw3/Riven/Casserole" - I think you covered the point - bad parenting can lead to damage to the child to such an extent that they can be statementable SEN. So therefore SOME bad parents whose children DO have special needs, that MAY be a result of their enviromnent, but don't have ADHD/AS will get statements. And these are the anecdotes that you risk having thrown in your face if you challenge the factuality of "Many children just have shit parents who can't be bothered to spend time/say no and then wonder why their children are little fuckers and go running to their Dr's to get a statement.".

Not quite, if someone had damaged their child to the extent of no other reason than the damage they had caused to require a statement. That child would no longer be with the parents to go running to the dr's to get a statement.

A child is assessed by various experts before a statement is issued and various intervention has already been put into place before a statement is issued.

I doubt many parents, who didnt give a shit about their child would be applying for a statement in the first place.

We have told you the context and they are in full view to see disabled children according to MrsCrafty are little fuckers. Attack an adult by all means but a child - come on.

Some children are "little fuckers" though. Oh and just to clarify things for you, like TCNY, we regularly considered our children as such on a number occasions. We even told them they were a few times! Shock

However, despite such parental "abuse" they have all grown up to be remarkably well-adjusted adults, although they can still be irritating and infuriating "fuckers" when they've a mind!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/08/2010 13:21

that is just crying out for someone to say "like their parent" but I am not going to be that person!

smallwhitecat - What would satisfy you that these things are being treated equally? I think it would be almost impossible for MN to produce reasonably coherent objective data on this and our own perceptions will always be skewed by our own biases, prejudices and interests.

Claw3 · 25/08/2010 13:30

Bretton, children who are truly rile, dont tend to have "high approval ratings from his mates". In fact children with ADHD tend not to have many mates at all, let alone high approval from them.

You might even find that he was just copying what his "high approval" mates were doing or even being goaded to do it by his "high approval mates".

Some children with disabilities are often trying their best to fit in and are not sure how to do this.

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 25/08/2010 13:34

Wasuup3000 - ahem "TCNY You are a shit parent and your child is a little fucker. Nice eh?"

It's alright I forgive you.

Love you! XXX.

Any thoughts on the content of my post? I still don't understand how I am disabalisy. And we haven't addressed the 'Academically Challenged' issue - have you decided whether or not you want to call me that?

wasuup3000 · 25/08/2010 13:37

Coaly hunny - you are saying you agree with the statement that other peoples children who have ADHD are little fuckers.
So I said to the above to you to point out how lovely the statement that you are agreeing with is.
D o - Y o u - u n d e r s t a n d?

You see bret there you go again.

so you are going to launch an attack on children.

is that because you are bigger than them, does it make you feel good.

how very mature Hmm

Emo76 · 25/08/2010 13:40

Hi - look sorry I don't have time to read this whole thread. However if there is ignorance out there about SEN (and I am largely uninformed on the matter) then let's address it. What is SEN? Is physical disability included? Does anyone use the term "disability" any more or is it not acceptable? Is it true that 10% of children have SEN? Is it a really broad spectrum of issues or is it just related to the education system?

I am asking these questions so I can understand some of the abbreviations and terms used on this thread and others.

wasuup3000 · 25/08/2010 13:41

Emo Have you heard of google?

Chippingin

actually that thread is a good example of my point...

I am slim. Yet I have gone to that thread several times to argue with the Op and have not felt it ok to leave the 'fatties' Shock to just get on with it because it is not my fight...

That is my bugbear - How often the main board goes [meh] about SN issues..
