To think a 2yo with size 9 feet is madness?

I have seen on facebook today that one of my friends DS has size nine feet! My DS is 2 months older than hers and his are a 4.5, and seem in proportion. Is size 9 very normal for a 2 yo or does he have abnormally large feet? (I'm not being judgey but it just sounded too big to be true!)

YANBU. It shouldn't be allowed really. You wanna write to your MP or something, get a law against it.

Hmm
StripeyMoon · 23/08/2010 20:32

My almost 2 year old is size 7.5 and my 4.5 year old is 11.5 so actually size 4.5 seems small from my pov but of course they're all different so bit of a strange question really!

pempslider · 23/08/2010 20:44

Really OP? Don't you have something more constructive to do with your time? Like arranging your toothbrushes alphabetically?

PinkyMe · 23/08/2010 21:22

hehe, and I thought my dd's size 7 feet were big.

Mind you she's 1 week short of 2 so there's still a chance she'll make a 9 before she turns 3. But gosh I hope not.

Morloth · 23/08/2010 21:23

Madness indeed, something should be done.

CatIsSleepy · 23/08/2010 21:25

LOL @ Morloth

Stop this big feet madness! where will it end??

I'd have made beautiful lotus flowers... I have such small feet as it is. Not sure I want to be doing with breaking every bone in my child's foot tho... ho hum.

DD1 was the longest baby the MW had ever seen she was 27 inches long and had size 3 feet on the day she was born at 33wks 4 days.

She is now 24 years old and takes size 9

Dd is 2.3 and has just become a size 7. She has really long big toes, like her dad.

MollieO · 23/08/2010 23:53

Ds was prem and I used to get sick of every consultant/doctor/nurse commenting on how big his feet were. He is 6.2 now and is a size 2. We went to buy his new school shoes last week and he said they looked like clown shoes. Grin

yentil · 24/08/2010 00:33

Well I think my 11 mth old DD2 is the winner with size 6.5 and DD1 just turned 5 has size 2 school shoes for next week. I wear size 11 and DH wears size 13 so they have no chance of conforming to the shoe riles that seem to prevail in Clarks which frankly pisses me off

MaMoTTaT · 24/08/2010 00:53

DS3 has was 3 at the end of May and has just gone up to size 11.

MaMoTTaT · 24/08/2010 00:55

oh - we're doing width as well - cool - DS3 is an H

Hmm - bloody PITA if I want to buy him properly fitted shoes as I generaly find one pair in sotck.......

MaMoTTaT · 24/08/2010 00:56

4.5 is TEENY.

Even DS2 who got his first shoes at 11 months old (walked at 10 months) went into a 6 for his first pair (thankfully he's slowed down now and at 6.8yrs is a size 1).

IfGraceAsks · 24/08/2010 01:08

I'm sure somebody's already said this - people are like puppies! Big feet = large animal when fully grown Grin

Mind you, your DS might be in for a toe-growth spurt. Have you or DH got long, elegant fingers & toes?

My feet are average-sized with horrid, stumpy toes, since you ask.

FallingWithStyle · 24/08/2010 01:24

Could we start some sort of petition?
It just doesn't sit right, all these feet in different sizes. Where's the equality in that??
Yanbu op. It's madness gone mad.

Lynli · 24/08/2010 01:27

spacehopper Ok you win. But I am only 51 inches tall, and my feet are a 4 so I was slightly surprised.

JebusBuiltMyHotQuads · 24/08/2010 05:10

lol @ this thread Grin

Think you must know by now, OP, that feet come in all sizes...

For the record my DD is 4 and in a size 13. Can be a pain in the arse finding shows without laces at that size Hmm

JebusBuiltMyHotQuads · 24/08/2010 05:10

shoes even
