to think that ADHD/ADD is a load of nonsense?

Are we really producing ever more kids with these conditions or do parents simply need to take back control and realise that, at times, all kids can be obnoxious, loud, defiant, restless and fidgety and that strictly enforced rules for behaviour, lots of TLC, and the occasional smack on the bum may be the way forward?

"No I'm not implying that all children with ADHD are unruly"

See even Bretton now accepts that ADHD exists!

Breton1900 · 24/08/2010 12:24

I'd be interested to learn what criteria Riven and smallwhitecat, amongst others, are employing to reach the conclusion that I am not a teacher and that I am male!

Claw3: Ah, busy quote mining are we?

Riven : Ah it's just one of your girly games is it?

Sorry, but I never liked dolls and still can't abide anything fluffy or pink!

Thank god I took ds1 out of school if Breton is indicative of the way teachers think about the children in their charge. Arent teachers supposed to be in loco parentis? Breton seems to actively dislike chilren who dont fit her idea of what children should be!!!!

Seen and not heard, eh Breton??

I pity the children in her "care".

Claw3 · 24/08/2010 12:36

There were no quotation marks, so was unaware it was a quote.

So you still dont think ADHD exists, you didnt reply to my post about the 75 scientists?

Does it matter whether its a man/woman/teacher whatever. Ignorance and stupidity can be common to any of those

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 24/08/2010 13:19

I dont know why anyone is giving this tosser oxygen. I vote for ignoring the fucker. (Albeit a little late, at 760 odd posts).

Sound the dipstick-alert bell and evacuate quicksticks kiddos.

What do you call those little marks at each end of the first sentence then?

hobnobsaremyfave: You have some odd ideas as to what constitutes cruel, bullying and ignorant language.

Where have I been "cruel"? I have simply expressed my opinion. That you do not agree with me hardly constitutes cruelty on my part.

Where have I been guilty of bullying"anyone? What threats have I issued?

Why am I "ignorant"? Or are you just angry that I don't, and won't, agree with you?

As far as I am aware freedom of expression is still tolerated in the UK - or are you, and others like you, intent on making MN into a mini dictatorship where no dissent with the majority opinion must be tolerated?

OP posts:
wasuup3000 · 24/08/2010 14:24

Freedom of expression is one thing Breton being disablist is another...

pagwatch · 24/08/2010 14:29

I think he is a man because I think he is a complete wanker. No more scientific than that.

I am in agreement with the notion that leaving stupid posters unanswered leaves the impression that no one has any arguement with what has been posted.

But I have said before that when a sad, sorry loser is trying to generate some sense of significance by endless, pointless nastiness then there is little to be gained in trying to communicate.

Far better to point and laugh or sympathise with the poor fuckers who have to put up with him in real life.

cornsillky · 24/08/2010 14:30

I reckon Breton is a teacher. Probably has a teaching certificate - qualified before degree was necessary to teach. Struggles to control his/her classes. Reluctant to change and very bitter. Reminisces about the days of corporal punishment. Still keeps his/her special ruler and fondles it often.

pagwatch · 24/08/2010 14:33

I think Cornsillky is on to something.

Breton1900 · 24/08/2010 14:36

Claw3: Re your 75 international scientists which rather puts me in mind of the alleged 70 scholars who supposedly wrote the Septuagint, but I digress.

If I wished to be light-hearted I could adapt Mandy Rice-Davies' famous phrase, and reply "Well they would say that, wouldn't they?" Smile

After all they?ve got bills to pay as well as the rest of us!

On a serious note I would point out that 75 is not a particularly large percentage of the number of psychologists and psychiatrists working around the world today.

I would also remind you that not every single member of the profession holds that the truth about ADHD is ?self evident?.

OP posts:
cornsillky · 24/08/2010 14:36

heh heh Grin

epicfail · 24/08/2010 14:36

There is definitely some kind of fondling and getting of jollies happening around here.

SO.

Word game then?
