Interesting response.

I think it understandable that people judge others on the way they express themselves on here - it's all we have to go on, not being able to see one another etc.

Typos I'll ignore but I'm afraid that when I see the misuse of "their", "there" and "they're" etc, I can't help but think, "Eeek, how awful!".

Apologies if anyone is offended by that but there we go (or, for the less exacting amongst you, their we go).

scottishmummy · 26/07/2010 14:22

bawbag is a particular fave of mine.kimda onomatopoeic

TheFallenMadonna · 26/07/2010 14:23

It's extremely rare that poor spelling and grammar make a post unreadable. It's usually matter of saying "grammar, not grammer" and "should have not should of", and that is rude. Bad manners.

ZZZenAgain · 26/07/2010 14:23

ooh barmy, but you made some other mistakes!

TheFallenMadonna · 26/07/2010 14:25

By all means shout at the screen. I've been known to do so myself. But as I say to the children I teach, you don't have to say (or type) everything you think.

ZZZenAgain · 26/07/2010 14:26

quite like bawbag -whatever it means

bawbag, scrote.. LOl
what are you linking to there? I get the MN home page.

ZZZenAgain · 26/07/2010 14:35

oh I see, second link!

I like this one:

"You're a bigger bawbag than Harry Nolan.
(notorious bin thief in Glasgow)"

particularly like Glasgow having a notorious bin thief LOL

scottishmummy · 26/07/2010 14:37

bawbag link again

MiladyDeSummer · 26/07/2010 14:59

Sorry for C&P but:

"In the world or work, you are judged harshly if your brief/presentation/report is littered with spelling mistakes or grammatical errors because it belies sloppy thinking"

Erm, doesn't the word "belie" mean to contradict or misrepresent?

Did you mean "convey" or a synonym of it BarmyArmy? Because your post makes no sense otherwise.

I'm only pointing out your shortcomings with regard to basic English vocabulary because of that "non-working Mumsnetters" comment by the way.

MiladyDeSummer · 26/07/2010 15:01

And I'm going to paste that here too since the thread has moved on. You said:

"I was simply letting the many non-workers on MN know what life is like for the rest of us and, by so doing, explain such pettiness etc!"

Very unreasonable matey.

MiladyDesummer, you're quite right!

If I'm happy enough to dish it out, I should be happy enough to take it and I am so doing

However, I stand by what I said. We do ourselves and our fellow Mumsnetters a disservice if we don't try to type clearly and with good English.

Quite why you took umbrage at my reference to non-working Mumsnetters is beyond me. It's a fact, not a judgement!

scottishmummy · 26/07/2010 17:11

FindingMyMojo · 26/07/2010 17:14
