To think that Denise Fergus should have stayed at home?

I don't understand why she (mum of Jamie Bulger) had to go and sit in court when John Venables was being sentenced for his more recent crime. I will never forget the horror of hearing what happened to her little boy, and I know that she will never get over it - but how can it possibly help her to keep appearing on tv and making statements about what happens now? She seems to feel she has a right to be told all about everything, and while I can sympathise with her opinion to a certain extent I don't know that she does really. I saw her being interviewed when he was arrested earlier in the year and she said she'd had to keep her children off school because of the publicity - but she seems to be generating a lot of it herself.
Please don't think me hard hearted, it's just that I don't get it.

FallingWithStyle · 25/07/2010 22:36

...because they are nasty and made up by losers with not much else to occupy them perhaps?

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:37

nickschick
It's 'James', not 'Jamie'
No, I'm not related
"first rate care"
Do me a favour!!!!!!!
I would thank you not to refer to any child as "shit fuckin scum"

LadyBlaBlah · 25/07/2010 22:38

Why won't you answer the question about the other murders - it is totally relevant.

You say that Denise Fergus could have prevented the murder if she had been looking after her child 'properly' - the point is that is the case for EVERY murder there has ever been. Murderers take children when they are vulnerable, when they can, when the parent is absent.

So parents everyday unknowingly put their children at potential risk, but that is life and I KNOW 100% that you will have done it, at some point - it only takes a few seconds. But who is at fault - the parent or the murderer?

(and this is a very separate argument to what makes a murderer)

bibbitybobbityhat · 25/07/2010 22:38

OP: I have often wondered the same thing as you. I cannot imagine that it is doing Denise Fergus any good to be so closely involved in this subsequent trial of one of her sons murderers.

But then I think (like most others on this thread) that if she wants the involvement, then who is anybody else to question her motivation? It may not, actually, be helpful to her, but ultimately it is her choice to be present and she is an adult with her own free will.

I reserve my judginess for the press following her around and asking for her opinion and reporting her every word on this new case. Vile, horrible, ghastly reporting.

FallingWithStyle · 25/07/2010 22:38

Bit late to be coming over all proper desanimaux.

nickschick · 25/07/2010 22:39

sticking with my shit fuckin scum comment with regards to those 2.

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:39

I am not a loser.
I have not made up anything I have posted as fact.
If the truth hurts.........
By all means wrap yourselves up in a comfy cloud of self-righteousness.
There were three victims that day.

To be fair to nickschick, you aren't coming across as a good contribution to the gene pool

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:44

Because I disagree?

SandyisinCaldwell · 25/07/2010 22:44

I think we should all stop responding to Desanimaux - this thread has turned around to focus on her and she doesn't fucking deserve any of our attention. Go and crawl back under your rock you disgusting excuse for a human being.

FallingWithStyle · 25/07/2010 22:46

You're getting your arguments very muddled Desanimaux.

And you are not stating fact. You are peddling rumour. Idle hearsay.

AgentZigzag · 25/07/2010 22:46

'I am not a loser.'

I disagree.

'I have not made up anything I have posted as fact.'

That is not a fact, you are wrong.

'If the truth hurts.........'

The truth is, you are a twat, I can imagine that must hurt to know.

'By all means wrap yourselves up in a comfy cloud of self-righteousness.'

The only self-righteous one here is you

'There were three victims that day.'

Yes, James and both his parents.

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:46

nickschick
Well, you could waltz into a lot of areas in the UK today and anoint them with your "shit fuckin scum" wand. Well done you!
How about doing something to help prevent this happening again?
Ooops! Sorry! They are EVIL and we can't do anything about it.

thefirstmrsDeVere · 25/07/2010 22:49

Why do you think you either a/want to string up the boys who killed James OR b/think his mother is a saint?

Why are you desperate to polarise the issue?

Do you have a personal vendetta against the woman?

Many of us are incredibly saddened by the events that led to the boys becoming murderers and do not want them hung drawn and quartered AND feel desperate for Jame's family and totally understand their quest for justice and yes - vengance.

You sound like the worst kind of gossip. The sort that starts rumours about cot deaths and stillbirths.

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:49

I am not peddling rumour. It is a fact that Denise Fergus was an ordinary mother, on an ordinary day, in a shopping centre in Bootle, not, at times, really concerned that her toddler was out of sight. Had to be reunited by shop staff a couple of times with her son.

2shoes · 25/07/2010 22:50

desanimaux you are a very sick person

desanimaux · 25/07/2010 22:50

Oh for fuck's sake! "cot deaths and stillbirths"!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/07/2010 22:52

How do you know that she was 'not, at times, really concerned that her toddler was out of sight' please?

thefirstmrsDeVere · 25/07/2010 22:52

You do. Like it or not - you do.

What gives you the right to blame this woman for the death of her child?

What the fuck do you know about losing a child?

Who the hell do you think you are?

FallingWithStyle · 25/07/2010 22:53

I really love the fact that no matter how you dig your heels in to defend your gossip, you know you're a twat. You know. Love that!

I've heard those rumours about James' mum shoplifting and the like but even if it is true I really can't see how that matters.

I have know someone who lived down the road from her and she never believed that was true.
