No, judge away

psychomum5 · 19/05/2009 13:38

nowt wrong with the bottle IMVHO, but then I am a mum who let two of mine have bottles until they were five due to allergies and eating issues, and lots of poorliness. bottles are not a sin, and far far better than a fruit shoot I think you will all agree!!

pushchair, again, mine stayed in one until they were good n ready to walk properly. again because of poorlyness issues in the main, but we spend a long time walking as older children and adults.............if a pushchair is easy for mum and kind to the child, then great.

smoking, pah, not a smoker but cannot judge anyone who does. plus, seeing as it is banned in most places, where the hell else can most people smoke apart from outside??

so, all in all, nowt wrong with the pic.............unless of course she allowed the dog to shit on the path and then not picked it up. THAT would be judge-worthy

smallorange · 19/05/2009 13:42

And at least with DD in the buggy she has a hand free with which to smoke her fag...

alfiesmadmother · 19/05/2009 13:46

more at Mel C, what is she wearing?

TsarChasm · 19/05/2009 13:50

You forgot the mandatory mn standard apology for linkung to the DM

Paolosgirl · 19/05/2009 13:50

"a pair of baggy trousers and ill-fitting pink top" apparently - and quite right too. She's only just given birth!

alfiesmadmother · 19/05/2009 14:12

Well her baby is 3 months old and she was attending a party where she knew she would be photographed...more unacceptable then a 3 year old in a pram IMO

Meglet · 19/05/2009 14:19

Ooooooh, I hate the DM even more than I did before after those comments about Mel C .

MmeLindt · 19/05/2009 14:29

alfiesmother
Nice. Ever had a baby puke on you just as you were leavign the house? She was going to a party of a friend's wee girl, not on a fashion shoot.

We wonder why the DM get away with writing such nasty comments.

Paolosgirl · 19/05/2009 14:30

I heart Mel C. If she knew she was going to be photographed the pap, then it was probably her way of sticking 2 fingers up at them

squeaver · 19/05/2009 14:36

I walk past Geri Halliwell's house every day and she does live quite a long way (for a 3 yo) from shops and parks, if anyone's interested.

I also know that she went to visit the local (excellent, highly-regarded) CofE school and was horrified to find that there are 30 children in each class.

"How do you cope?" she asked the teacher.

Twims · 19/05/2009 14:39

The only thing that I won't judge is the smoking - I am a non smoker, and a nanny, and don't think that children should be around smoke/cigarettes but they are out and about in the fresh air.

I will judge

  • on the bottle (which I get rid off at around a year - drink in a beaker much better.

  • on the pushchair (which I get rid off at around 20-24 months - don't use it after the 2nd birthday. I also live where you have to walk for miles and also go on woodland walks and don't see the need for one after the age of 2.

pagwatch · 19/05/2009 14:39

why would that surprise her Squeaver - she isn't a private school gel is she?
Genuine question...
My school had 30 plus children all those years ago so I would not be shocked by large class sizes ( although DD has 14 and DS2 has only 8 )

squeaver · 19/05/2009 14:53

I know, she makes a great play of her working class roots doesn't she?

But she's come a long way from there, I suppose...

violethill · 19/05/2009 22:12

Buggy - nah, justifiable if you want to get somewhere quick.
Bottle - dubious. Shouldnt a 3 year old be able to drink out of a cup FFS?
Fag - lovely, smoking around your toddler
Can we judge her on that annoying little dog too?

QOD · 19/05/2009 22:21

A friend of mines 13 yr old dd, 11 yr old ds and 10 yr old dd all still have a bottle of milk most nights
The 10 yr old even has those anti colic bottles, you know with the disposable bag that means you can drink the bottle any way up.....

PinkTulips · 19/05/2009 22:34

geri looks angry!

guess the oarty wasn't a success then?

actually i'm mostly judging that dog.... is that a pomeranian with a buzz cut?!

oh and i'm judging pale pink head to toe but with bright red shoes...

poor sporty spice looks knackered bless her... but at least she's not doing that bizarre 'look how quick i can fit into size 8 by frantically working out at the gym while the nanny minds my child' routine

fruitstick · 19/05/2009 22:39

Mel C looks how I feel!

God bless her.

shavenhaven · 20/05/2009 09:45

i dont think it is a dog.

its a rat on a lead.

OP posts:
Gunnerbean · 24/05/2009 19:35

Errr, excuse me but if it's acceptable (in some quarters at least) for kids of any age up to about 10 to still be allowed to breast feed, why on earth would it not be OK for a (just) 3 year old to drink out of a bottle?

Gunnerbean · 24/05/2009 19:37

Sorry, also forgot to say that she's smoking outside and so what she has her dog with her - is it not quite normal for dog woners to walk them?

Why anyone would feel the need to judge anything about that particular photo is beyond me.

violethill · 26/05/2009 10:28

Smoking is fucking disgusting, especially around kids. Her kids is more likely to become a smoker if she sees her mum smoking. Maybe she doesn't give a shit about that, but other people tend to care about these things and that's why they're judging.
