I'm not keen on Kay Adams, I find her a bit serious. I definitely wouldn't want Ruth Langsford...but if she's the bookie's favourite then I guess it's likely? I wouldn't imagine she's popular enough with the viewers though?

But it needs someone who is warm and approachable (like Fern, sob) and, although I like Kay Adams, she doesn't ooze that. Liza Tarbuck is a bit too earthy - have you ever heard such a dirty laugh? Colleen Nolan tried it once before with Twiggy and it bombed. Hate Anthea (and too close to Eamonn on a Friday to risk her!) and Fiona Phillips is trite and patronising. Also, not sure she's that bright - her attempts to interview "serious" guests on GMTV (like Gordon Brown in the old days, before he started trying to be jolly to win over the electorate) was painful to watch. Or was it hilarious? And as for the Heather McCartney debacle! Anyway, she's out, in my book. I shall be Switching Off if any of them get it.

I love Fern but only because I'm jealous - she's married to a chef, gets to laugh all day at her work (or so it appears) and she looks fab
