i had an email from one of m old students tonight from Finland ,he has just got engaged to his girlfriend .I am so pleased for him ,we first met when he lodged here for 3 weeks about 7 yrs ago ,he was only 16 then ,we have kept in touch by text and email and two years ago he was studying somewhere in ireland so he got on ryanair and came here for a long weekend !

no never tnog .although i have known some mums say " oh well they have made their bed " etc ,but i cant be like that and no matter how old they get ,they are my children and i will always help if i can

will you go the wedding?

well if we get an invite we may i suppose.W have always been told we could go there to his parents house anyway,we will have to wait and see ,he didnt sa when they planeed to marry or anything.His grandparents live in Lapland [ lappi ] and i have several cards that he has sent from there. he is interesting to talk to ,he used to talk about when his grandparents had to leave their house because of the russian invasion and things like that,all very sad but interesting.

the first xmas after he had stayed here ,he sent me a little gift over from Finland ,it is three little xmas elves ,which i now get out every year and out on a little shelf

i am just going to make a cuppa ,I WILL BE BACK IN COUPLE OF MINUTES !!!!

It's great to have friends in other countries and to be able to communicate so easily

rememeber my friend that died n april ,well i was her birthda last week and her son put such a lovely verse in the paper for her. he rang to say he was going to do it but told me i had to wait to read it .he phoned again yesterday to check thati had .In fact i have cut it out of the paper and will keep it
