OP posts:

So his pretending to be a Christian didn't do the trick then? Did he really think that 'converting to Christianity' would make people think he was a good person?

Glad he's been found guilty. Horrible man. 😖

ColdLittleHeart · Today 15:26

Thank you to all the brave women that came forward and put this dangerous man behind bars.
The victims that didn’t get the guilty verdicts today are in my thoughts, we all know what he did to them! May they all find peace and closure through what will hopefully be a very lengthy custodial sentence for him!

Good.

Yep! Great name Barry!

Well let’s not perpetuate the belief that rape is an after dark only activity. This trial proves it happens in daylight, in peoples, homes, in front of others etc.

We all know its more dangerous to be outside when it gets dark.

Netcurtainnelly · Today 15:27

No .

KittyWilkinson · Today 15:27

I'm glad to hear this. I hope it's a lengthy sentence.

Nevermissabeat · Today 15:28

Good. Glad he didn't get away with it.

They're playing Katy Perry on R1. He was a shit to her.

I was about to post something similar!

BBC reckon double figures.

I think that was more about ingratiating himself with people who he felt might have been able to shield him in some way. The Tate brothers are grovelling to Trump, Mar-a-lago appears to regularly host all sorts of right-wing loonies and ne'er-do-wells who have hit the buffers.

He has properties abroad, so although he should have been remanded prior to sentencing in any case, I wouldn't be shocked to find out there was a train of thought that had him absconding prior to sentencing and then throwing himself at the feet of the Christofascists in the US.

I wonder how many more will come forward now? I'm so pleased for those brave women, amazing.

I was going to say the same - hopefully this is the tip of the iceberg and more women will now come forward

Im not going to derail the thread on this one.

Very pleased and reassured he has been denied bail. Well done to the prosecution and the judge. I am so sad for the women whose testimonies were not upheld, but hope they feel they have seen some justice at least.

RB's barrister should hang hiss head in shame, some of the questioning was abhorrent and has no place in a 2026 courtroom.

Have been reading of other pending allegations overseas and in the UK, the fact RB tried and failed to delay these being heard is very telling and I guess fuel for the judge's decision to deny bail.

I hope LB's Dad has already made contact with the top divorce lawyers and counsellors to ensure she and his grandchildren never have to see this animal ever again.

LB’s Dad? Like she’s some vulnerable adult that needs caring for by the family patriarch? Ffs. She might be an autonomous woman who has been making choices? She may decide to stand by him?

Why is a narrative taking root that she’s some sort of victim and doesn’t have agency?

FluffyCat17 · Today 15:33

I read that his eldest child had their 10th birthday yesterday, so I do feel for the three of them. Admittedly the situation is no different to the children of anyone sent to prison in one sense, but it's still sad for his family.

I hope his wife can see through the very odd religious fog surrounding him soon, although she had a supporter praying next to her in court today so I guess she's fairly deep into whatever it is.

The trial has brought up things for me, which is why I think I have wanted to follow it and not follow it at the same time. Basically two things which happened decades ago at work and a family gathering which would now be classed as serious but I felt I had to laugh off at the time. I would never put myself through a trial but might seek some kind of talking therapy.

Thedetailisthedetail · Today 15:35

Revolting man.

Summeriscumin · Today 15:35

I feel so sorry for his children. They'll go through hell at school.

He's obviously got issues.

Greedybilly · Today 15:35

Good. Vile creature.
Never like him not since the Andrew Sachs 'joke.'
Rocky that.

I hope he gets jail time

He's been remanded in custody with the promise of a considerable sentence.

I hope he gets jail time

It's mandatory for rape so he will, the tariff is either 4-9 years or 7-12 I would assume this one would be the upper tariff and that's without the sentences for the other offences.

It may be the jury felt the burden of proof wasn’t met not that they weren’t acknowledged.

It would be the CPS not the jury I think.

Hes not laughing now about degrading women. Ive always thought hes vile and about as funny as a prolapse. Arrogant pig.

Maybe, but remember all the women, as well as men, who said only Daily Mail types were upset about his "prank" with Ross?
He was held up as an icon for my age group. Worrying.

OonaStubbs · Today 15:39

He should get at least 30 years. And he should receive no special protection in prison, put him in general population with the the other lags.

SheilaFentiman · Today 15:41

TouchMyBumThisIsLife · Today 15:19

His type is the reason why women cannot walk along after dark.

I don't think Brand assaulted any woman walking alone at night - he was much more into using his position and his celebrity to assist in his assaults.

Triskellion75 · Today 15:42

I hope they the booky wook at him, the fucking beast.

aquashiv · Today 15:44

Excellent—now for the orange rapist running America.
