Mehdi Hassan is a fantastic interviewer. He should have been snapped up and held onto by the BBC, or another mainstream British channel.

I’d so enjoy seeing Jenrick lose his seat. It would eclipse the Portillo moment by several multiples.

I will always associate Jenrick with painting over children’s murals. Petty little man.

(and the £40 million tax dodging deal he did with Richard Desmond)

That’s true, there’s a die-hard group of voters who won’t abandon them.

If we had a system of PR then they would never have a chance of being anywhere near local or national government.

placemats · Today 10:45

Reform used to champion PR but didn't realise that it would mean less, not more council seats or fewer not more seats in Parliament.

LizzieW1969 · Today 10:46

Actually, with 20% of the vote, under PR they would be entitled to many more seats in Parliament than the few seats they have right now. You’re right about local government, though.

LizzieW1969 · Today 10:48

As I understand it anyway. Obviously it depends which PR system it was. They wouldn’t get many second preference votes.

placemats · Today 10:49

Thanks for the clarification.

The clues were all there, really. To be fair to Farage, he sensed it. However he either misjudged it, or thought he could ride the tiger.

It's quite illuminating how much the rank and file Reforms hate the Tories. There is a mathematical case to be made that Reforms decline is directly related to the number of ex Tories they gleefully hoovered up.

Too late now. They are stuck with them. And Tories gonna Tory.

Same. And claiming he didn’t see another white face when he visited Birmingham. The mural will always be the zenith of his awfulness though.

Yes, that was really nasty. And pointless too, I can’t even recall his supposed justification for the action.

I always wondered how long it was before a new, bigger, better mural was painted.

I wonder how long before Badenoch will u-turn on her endorsement of Lowe 🤔
