Alright, so who's started eating buying "Christmas" food already?

I'm on my second bag of Lebkuchen 😳

Florentines here.. chomp, chomp, all gone

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/10/2026 20:01

I almost bought a Pannetone last week. So far resistance is holding up. 💪🙅‍♀️

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 16/10/2026 20:03

Those Cadbury’s Christmas Puds are my nemesis.

Once the Christmas season kicks in I average around one a day.

So far this year I’ve eaten four.

Do people actually eat these? I thought they were just bought as gifts which are then inevitably regifted until the end of time.

Autumnalhibernationisthedream · 16/10/2026 20:04

Nope have hidden- kids don’t know about them, I stopped myself opening three times now. This is the year I’ll be more ready!!

Livingthebestlife · 16/10/2026 20:08

Ate a tub of quality street today, of my favourites only 2 purple and 3 strawberry. There was 12 fudge in the tub 😲😲😕😕

We were onc given one - in a tin, probably quite expensive. But it was very dry and unexciting, and most of it ended up going out in the garden for the birds.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2026 20:28

I've been buying it, but my family know not to eat it on pain of death! Xmas Grin

I did make 48 mince pies the other week. 44 made it to the freezer.

AuroraBloom · 16/10/2026 20:30

One pack of iced mince pies

One tub of cheese footballs

Oh I looooove lebkuchen so much but the only places that sell them where I live are Aldi and Lidl 😑 and I wouldn't want anybody I know to see me step foot in there. Does anybody know of any premium seller that I can purchase a couple of bags for me and the fam? I really fancy some this year!

Same here.
Dh checks the ratings in good housekeeping and then tests them himself to see if he agrees.

I'm on my second box of mince pies, will detest them by mid November when I will start craving Easter Eggs.

They do sell acceptable lebkuchen in Waitrose. But Aldi and Lidl is better in my opinion.

I was trying to hold out on buying any but DH came home with a packet yesterday

Had a mince pie bake from Greggs at the weekend, lovely.

Bread and Butter puffing made with Pannetone is delicious.

Lucyslateagain · 16/10/2026 21:02

I'm not even mentioning the c word until December
Will be difficult because I'm usually buying bits by now

Is this is a serious question or are you spoofing MNers with this?!

Nothing yet, far too soon. Mid-November and I’ll be eating it all!

CoastalCalm · 16/10/2026 21:18

I bought a box of M&S malt balls and have opened them but both me and DH are dieting so will last a while - better value than the small bags so not specifically for Christmas

Cairneyes · 16/10/2026 21:22

Ecclefechan tarts, I had to try a different brand this year, just to make sure they would be ok for Xmas☺️
