An example of the hill I am prepared to die on. The press - especially the Daily Mail and The Telegraph are spinning a load of highly misleading info on this.

The main thrust of the recent gov report by Prof Peter Fonagy was that the mental distress of young people is genuine and they are getting no support until they get a diagnosis, which is a problem because the wait times for diagnosis are endless. He also said that due to the immense pressure in the system, there is a risk that some private providers will start misdiagnosing people….. and do what did the press lead on?…. Overdiagnosis of course!

You see them on social media, there’s one from Liverpool gives her child what he wants to eat because he has special needs! He’s massive and only about 6! When people call her out she says I’m not going to deny him food and he eats what he wants!

The number of people thinking the moon landings were faked really does explain why it's so easy to persuade people to believe a wide range of other shit.

The whole "the moon landing was fake" thing......I never give it much thought, always just assumed that it was real. But thinking about the political scene at the time, the US was desperate to beat the USSR in the space race, how bent their government was in places, how important it was from a morale pov for the US population and how it placed the US in the world hierarchy, lets just say I wouldnt be massively surprised if it ever came out that it was faked.

Many people would be much happier - especially children - without social media. It shouldn't have been invented.
