Chicken pox vaccinations should be a part of the UK vaccination schedule for children.

They are, so you can find another hill to die on now :)

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are both thick, intolerable, and not the 'national treasures' we are expected to think of them as

Having babies past 40 is just mental to do.
Moon landings were faked.
Dogs should not be allowed in cafés.
Parents need to parent without a screen.
Women are not always right.
Skinny jabs will cause problems in the end.
Lake District and the white cliffs of Dover are over rated.
Men that shave their armpits are wankers.
Some old people are bloody annoying.
And many many more.

Men who don't shave their armpits are disgusting..

A few more controversial ones -

Running makes women look older

If one is a SAHM, you can’t expect your partner to take on 50 percent of domestic chores when they’re out earning all the money

In London, the majority of private schools are going to provide a better quality of education than the majority of state schools.

I agree running makes you look older - back to a pp's post that you have to choose between your face and your arse :)

I once got into trouble when I said this to my mum (who looks much younger from the back as she's slim and walks well - but she is in her 80s and well, her face does show that :) )

I am kind of in the middle as I have a fat face so I get away with running.

I agree with the last two but not with the first one. A good friend of mine is a professional runner and she is the exception that proves my :rule' (more of an observation) abouten ageing better than women.

Absolutely. Pair of grifting oiks. That said, I don't know anyone who thinks of either of them as NTs. They are about a step above Katie Price!

Mine is that WLI might make people look older, but looking older is preferable to being at risk of obesity related health conditions. Health is more important than looks.

I think it's more the media that seem to ram them down our throats and expect us all to love them. Although Stacey does seem to have hundreds of thousands of low IQ fans and fawners on her instagram too.

If youre an attractive woman some other women will be absolute horrors to you for no other reason than the fact youre better looking.

Now this I agree with. I was very attractive in my late teens, 20s, and 30s....Blonde/blue eyes, big boobs, wore skirts around 3" above my knees, and had great legs. Wherever I worked, there would be a woman who was horrible to me, not only because I was attractive, but also because of the attention I got from men. I wasn't about to dress down, wear a sackcloth, no make up, and have my hair cut short and dye it brown because they were threatened by me, and jealous of me.

No, I am NOT Samantha Brick! 😆

But yeah, (some) women who have never had attention from men, do get jealous of attractive women who men ogle over, and assume you're after their husband. I'm not/never was!

True. However, people who are just slightly overweight who use WLI are foolish IMO. You can tell when someone has lost weight using those means and it looks weird. You can absolutely tell them apart from people who've done it the old fashioned way. The same is true of people who had gastric bands, although at least you had yo be properly fat yo qualify for one of those.

No, I would absolutely not describe her as compliant. There have been many times when I have had to brush her teeth when she won’t and many times when she has hit and struggled to calm down, so staying calm and understanding during those times is challenging. We absolutely have boundaries and give consequences, they just have to make sense - if she is hitting while we are somewhere then we have to go home for example (it’s hard to think of examples on the spot), we just don’t punish or give consequences that make no sense to the situation. All of this along with the encouragement for other ways to express anger have not been these quick fixes that have worked instantly, that’s the point, it is a long road and we are still on that road but it is getting better. We just treat her with kindness and understanding with it all. She’s getting better at regulating her emotions but long way to go still. Like I say, long game.

Just to inform you, many parents use the same methods as you do (me included) - we just don't feel the need to give it a title like "gentle parenting" and sound like we think we are more superior than other parents.

What you described is perfectly normal parenting to me.

So you think parents who don't go on about children's feelings all the time, don't treat their children with kindness and understanding?
Logical and natural consequences are often not effective because they don't happen soon enough for younger and ND kids.
The natural consequence for not doing your homework is failing your exams. This is a useless consequence for most children. They need an immediate one, such as not getting to watch TV.

You mean if someone has just used them to lose half a stone for example, you can tell that they’ve used WLI to do so? You’re far more observant than me!

Yes. I know 2 women (one in her mid 40s, one in her early 50s.) This year, both have them have lost weight... The younger one has used WLI, and lost 4 stone in about 6 months. It's aged her by 10 years. She has loose skin, and her face looks haggard.

The older one has lost 2 and a half stone in 6-7 months, by simply eating healthier, and exercising more. No WLI. And she has done 3 miles of walking every day for that time. She looks amazing. It's taken 10 years OFF her. She has toned up, and has no loose skin.

I also know a couple of women who lost 4-5 stone on WLI in 2024-2025, who have already regained all the weight.

and you are incredibly naïve to think just because YOUR school was fine, that this isn't an increasing issue.

Why are you being so hostile and confrontational?

My child’s secondary school was a Super Academy with 10 classes in each year. Toilets locked, unisex toilets, super strict on uniform, didn’t have a long enough lunch hour to enable all kids to buy food as queues were so bad, bullying off the scale, only cared about results and reputation.

Surely the point is though that the one who lost it with WLI and now looks ‘haggard’ likely wouldn’t have lost the weight otherwise, so she’s still better off in terms of her health overall?
People seem to think that looking older is the worse possible thing that could happen to a woman, whereas I’d suggest that becoming ill/dying of an obesity related illness is worse than looking older.

That religion is a throwback to pre-medieval times and was invented to control people and explain events that science was not yet evolved enough to explain.
There is no God.
