Hmm, did the OP know this at the time? I think not.

Sharing the pictures was poor form though, but they have been deleted now anyway.

Sunshine1500 · 10/10/2026 18:56

It’s awful news, poor family and staff at the zoo.
i can’t imagine it would be easy to enter a tiger enclosure unless it was a deliberate attempt.

You really shouldn’t assume

I hope yours or others children weren’t aware or traumatised by what happened 💐

Luckily enough my gkids are too young to be aware anything about it but were understandably a little upset we had to cut the day short.
We did speak to a couple of people who saw it happen and were pretty traumatised obviously 🙁 @

SerendipityJane · 10/10/2026 18:57

I feel sorry for the man-it is reported that he has sadly died-but it should not be possible to climb in to the enclosure.
At all.

You would be amazed what people can do when they put their minds to it. Sadly in this case it had tragic consequences.

If anyone likes a dark humour, Phill Jupitus has a perfect 15 minutes in his 1999 show about people around animal enclosures. ("Hello, it's the tigers here ....")

StasisMom · 10/10/2026 18:57

Poor zoo staff and onlookers. Very glad the tiger is ok.

Judging by his use of Makaton sign language to the tiger I’d guess not, and he probably most likely has a leaning disability. Huge contrast in the comments towards this man than those for Noah Woods.

Nothing points to him being on drugs and if he was then he’s obviously taking them for a reason.

He was obviously very scared and confused when the tiger was attacking him.

Completely unnecessary comment.

being mauled to death by a tiger is high on the list of an awful and traumatic way to die

may or may not have been drugs, but its a sad end

bit different if you were talking about a joyrider, high on coke, who had injured or killed people in the process, but then also died after wrapping their car around a tree at speed

At all.

And the tiger should not be put down.
It's a bloody tiger.
This is why tigers should not be in zoos.

And twitter should take down the footage.
Ghoulish.

Edited

It would be very very difficult to get into the tiger enclosure but I guess if someone is stupid enough to want to they can manage it.

Yorkshire Wildlife is a brilliant wildlife park and deeply concerned with conservation.

What you think a totally sane person would jump into a tiger enclosure?
I can understand someone being depressed and wanting to commit suicide, but there must be easier ways than this.

GreenEyesMillennial · 10/10/2026 19:03

Update here, no mention of a dead tiger, just the man himself is dead www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/yorkshire-wildlife-park-tiger-attack-man-dead-9279914

Apparently gunshots were heard so they probably shot the tiger. Tragic.

No no no no no. I can't bear it.

Really?! Not appropriate

The videos look like he has a learning disability and does not understand danger or going through a mental health issue like psychosis.

He was telling the tiger off so I doubt he wanted to commit suicide.

BubblingBobbling · 10/10/2026 19:05

I truly hate this world now where something this tragic happens and within hours footage of such a horrendous incident is being circulated all over the world with people commenting the most vile things about this poor young guy. How must his poor family feel. For anyone who has worked with vulnerable adults you can clearly see his has some issues, most probably autism.

How can people have stood there calmly filming it? I despair of the human race.

This thread should be taken down, it is in such very poor taste.

He clearly wasn’t sane because this is an insane thing to do. The question is what kind of insane.

No no no no no. I can't bear it.

There are a lot of people lying on this thread. There is no indication that the tiger has been destroyed and I expect there would be an outcry if it was.

Thank you. I can't bear to open the report. The man in question must have been extremely unwell.

ExtraHotDoubleShot · 10/10/2026 19:06

No, I haven't. They have just stated on the radio news that police are asking those who had filmed it not to circulate it over the internet.

My adult son has seen it, his gf has two brothers with autism and she says it is fairly obvious from the clips that he has some kind of learning difficulty.

DearCritic · 10/10/2026 19:08

I’m probably going to be told I’m being insensitive….
But climb into a tiger enclosure… what did he expect… natural selection. It’s said he was trying to wind the tiger up and went in there to do the job more thoroughly…. I suppose he realised he wasn’t as tough or clever as he thought in the end!!!
Hopefully nothing happens to tiger, it’s an endangered species and not its fault.
