Man has jumped into Tiger enclosure

At Yorkshire wildlife park.Anyone seen the video? I live local to it and the video of the man wagging his finger at it telling it no like a toddler is shocking.Hes lucky he wasnt killed.

In the footage taken by a bystander you can hear a woman in the background say “I tried to stop him”

How could carers stop him, he'd be stronger than them, he's not a child. It sounds a tragic accident, luckily these things happen very rarely

I cannot believe all the posts on sm showing his final moments. There really should be some kind of law against it. If you can get sent to prison for a tweet you should be able to get fined for sharing horrific incidents like this.

Distracted him, hauled him off the fence, got help quicker?
Bevause according to eye witnesses the man was wandering around entirely unsupervised. It was an unfair position to put him in, if true.

Yes, you are right - i was confused by another post, but tbh I am extremely insulted by one of the posts here that seemed to call me lacking mentally. Totally out of order.

As for the livelehood of tigers. lions. et all, I believe that they are kept alive by the wishes of those that regard them as a mealticket for the sake of tourism. I have been there, got the ticket, 'camped' amongst them. it was a hideous experience. and at times terrifying for my children.

I've recently returned from an island in the middle of nowhere, ie, the Indian Ocean. They will not tollerate interference with the wildlife/sealife. Fair play to them.

Ignorance has nothing to do with intellect. Someone can be highly intelligent and still be ignorant about certain things.

Your original scathing post asking what “euphemism” was acceptable to the masses when a poster pulled up the disgusting language being used by other posters was ignorant. If you don’t know the correct terminology to use when referring to a learning disabled person then that is ignorance, it’s very easy to find out.

Your posts in the last hour are concerning, and while I stand by saying that it is not our job to educate the ignorant, the talk about loving cats, the not knowing who you are and where you stand in society are worrying and seem extreme reactions to what was actually said.

I’m normally a very empathetic person but I’ve got zero sympathy for the guy - regardless of whatever mental health condition or learning disabilities he had, he chose to put the lives of an innocent animal, bystanders and the zoo staff at risk. It wasn’t an accident, a woman tried to stop him and he ignored her. His actions have likely left the keepers and others who viewed it traumatised.

I dont think he was an idiot, as others have said he is using his little finger to feature which is makaton for "bad" he was seen dancing about with earbuds in on the viewing bridge before hand so it sounds like he is autistic and has additional needs. I have seen the video and his motions remind me of my autistic nephew, who is still a small boy but it made me cast my mind to what he may be like as an adult. The world as neurotypical people see it is so different for some others, what is a safety barrier to one person is a climbing frame to an autistic person, what is a dangerous animal is a creature from a picture book or from TV, to be investigated with innocent curiosity. Things we accept and put up with without a second thought are not that way for some people. The world we live in isn't the world they do. So the word idiot is misapplied unless it turns out this gentleman was foolhardy or doing it for likes, otherwise he was mentally ill or had additional needs.

He was dead before anyone commented. Otherwise there would have been nothing to say. Me saying "what a mrn" was a casual comment on his stupidity entering the tiger enclosure.

You can have empathy for all who had to witness this tragic event, and the YWP staff and emergency services who dealt with the aftermath whilst also having sympathy for the man, who clearly did not have mental capacity. One doesn’t cancel the other out.

I agree totally. if he was suffering with psychosis he may have had a totally unguarded idea as to how the tiger may respond.

I agree. It’s nothing more than a snuff video. Should be removed immediately and anyone sharing it should get arrested / a criminal record. Absolutely vile and everything that is wrong with the internet.
