Food or drink you wish was available but isn't.

I'm not talking about discontinued stuff more items that just have never been invented/available.

For me it would be a non carbonated original Coca-cola.

I usually just leave the top off for a few days to get the desired flatness but sometimes I'd just love to pop into a shop a grab an ice cold flat coke.

Weird, I know but that's the one food/drink I'd really wish was readily available.

There was a trend on Tik Tok recently of foods people wish were available and one was a lemon meringue version of Tunnock's Tea Cakes - I'd love that too.

What would be on your wish list?

Not so much a new or different food, I just want food (I guess pre packaged stuff not ingredients) to be better quality. Everything is rank now, full of shite to keep profits up (while costs go up). Food just used to taste better.

Decaffeinated everything eg decaf tiramisu as I’m awake half the night after anything chocolate or coffee flavoured yet love those flavours & I’d appreciate decaf cola everywhere like at the cinema

Hard agree. Caffeine free Dr Pepper please - I love Dr Pepper but can't tolerate caffeine at all.

laurajayneinkent · 04/10/2026 01:24

I'd like a red bull with no caffeine! I actually like the taste of it but don't want the caffeine!!

Harry12345 · 04/10/2026 01:54

Pasta, bread and chocolate that were low in carbs and sugar but tasted the same

Empress13 · 04/10/2026 07:08

Sweetners that don’t have that horrible taste but taste more like sugar but without the calories!

Crisp flavouring, in a pack like sherbert that you can dip whatever you like in (breadstick, carrot, a finger)

Seabrook do little pots of crisps flavourings, I saw them in B&M yesterday.

Totally agree.

Chocolate is one of the worst. I’m a chocoholic and find most of my previous favourites taste like candle wax these days with virtually no cocoa solids in them at all. I find so many foods very disappointing.

Alcohol free dry cider, fruit cider that isn’t ridiculously sweet. I’m off alcohol for medical reasons and everything available is either sweet or horrible tasting, I ended up on sparkling water yesterday, boring

BlackeyedSusan · 04/10/2026 14:06

I am frequently too disabled to prepare food so I want:

Cheap, healthy, tasty long life meals in a tin/box/jar that's not ultra processed.

If I've been well enough and shopped, salad in a packet works but they take up loads of room in the fridge, and don't last long.

saveforthat · 04/10/2026 14:22

I want a large easter egg sized cream egg that is full of the fondant in regular cream eggs.

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 04/10/2026 14:26

A soft drink which is zero calories, not caffeinated, and tastes decent without being horribly expensive. I’m on the low sugar vimto atm.

Hollyisgrande · 04/10/2026 15:19

Thanks @EatingHealthy but sadly this review has sold it for me… 😆

Like you I can't stand the fruit ciders , have you tried Inches 0.0% I really like it , Stowford 0% press is ok too but taste a bit earthy to me

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 04/10/2026 17:29

Calorie free spaghetti bolognese. I want to eat it until I am fit to burst without gaining any weight.

Chalky sweets that are mint flavoured. You know like candy cigarettes or those swizzlers lollies or lovehearts?

But minty.

Both minty stuff and chalky stuff is a pregnancy craving for me and I wish there was something that satisfied. Rennies do the trick but obvs can't have more than a couple of those a day.

@TokyoTantrum if you are ever in Ireland try these: https://www.tesco.ie/shop/en-IE/products/250816211?srsltid=AU7gw4VB0tD0Ij6N8B5IIwuXch-87ISc0H29MGNICIgeOM8btE38bytp

Minty and very chalky. I think they are exactly what you are looking for!

Calorie free tasty chocolate

I remember buying Canderel chocolate in the mid 90s thinking it was really healthy as it was sugar free! The calories weren’t that much different to normal chocolate!

Please tell me where! I am a fruit gum fan and I can rate everyone from every shop but nothing beats these

The fruit gums now are nothing like the ones pictured from the 80s. They are really soft now

Interestingnamesuggestion · 04/10/2026 23:16

Another vote for Oreos without the filling!

Oh yes, I agree! The only acceptable ones I've found are Kylie 0% white and pink, Tanquery Gin, and Whitley & Nell Rhubarb and ginger gin. I would love a 0% red which tastes and feels just like a full bodied red

@Moistcottonchafers thank you for that suggestion. Sadly I can't see the ingredients, though one site said it was wheat starch and palm fat, and we have a dairy allergy and gluten intolerance in the house. I would love a powder like a curry powder and you add an amount to hot (plant based) milk that thickens and tastes like bechemel sauce.

Edited

Is cornflour glutenfree ? I make sauce by mixing cornflour into a paste then adding it to hot milk voila white sauce i then add whatever ingredient required like cheese or parsley

Some are, but what I am looking for is something like instant gravy granules for when I am short of time feeling lazy 😬

ScottBakula · 05/10/2026 22:12

I have just eaten a Eccles cake and decided that someone should make one with raspberry filling.
