Food or drink you wish was available but isn't.

I'm not talking about discontinued stuff more items that just have never been invented/available.

For me it would be a non carbonated original Coca-cola.

I usually just leave the top off for a few days to get the desired flatness but sometimes I'd just love to pop into a shop a grab an ice cold flat coke.

Weird, I know but that's the one food/drink I'd really wish was readily available.

There was a trend on Tik Tok recently of foods people wish were available and one was a lemon meringue version of Tunnock's Tea Cakes - I'd love that too.

What would be on your wish list?

A white chocolate bar with coffee cream or praline filling that's easy to find in any sweet shop. Mint cream chocolate with milk chocolate and not dark.

fumingrightnow1 · 02/10/2026 21:34

Chocolate flavoured lettuce

KillingEvesbestmate · 02/10/2026 23:43

Sosmix and beanfeast

Trebor mints are probably the closest but might not be quite chalky enough.

I totally forgot about these! I used to eat them a lot as a kid but then I went vegetarian and iirc they have gelatine in?

I'm not veggie anymore so perhaps time to give them a go

Mydogisagentleman · 03/10/2026 06:51

Strangly I was thinking about this last week
A savory perhaps marmite and or cheese breakfast cereal.
For the odd occasion that I don't fancy toast

swapsicles · 03/10/2026 06:55

Nice vegan chocolate puddings like cheesecake or ice cream.
I'm veggie but also not keen on the whole ethics of the dairy industry plus can't eat too much of it due to IBS!
Allmost everything has gelatin and dairy in.
I do miss a decent smooth and tasty cheesecake!

Wetleggg · 03/10/2026 07:05

Decaffeinated everything eg decaf tiramisu as I’m awake half the night after anything chocolate or coffee flavoured yet love those flavours & I’d appreciate decaf cola everywhere like at the cinema

hirsuteonHRT · 03/10/2026 07:29

@Twogingercatshave you tried gin gins? The chewy version are really good. Much more expensive and plastic wrapped than fruit pastilles unfortunately.

Unsalted spreadable butter that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Rose flavoured chalky sweets like Parma Violets.

I'm glad neither of those exist! Parma violets are so gross

TheoreticallyAdult · 03/10/2026 07:41

90% dark chocolate with mint

Tea that not only is decaf but also has fluoride and tannins removed. Damn hypothyroidism.

Moistcottonchafers · 03/10/2026 07:42

Tuna tartare Callipo

Only kidding! Love the idea of a lemon meringue Tunnocks teacake though.

Have you tried the Alpro chocolate desserts? They're a thick yogurt like consistency but the dark chocolate one especially are nice over fruit.

Hallelujah2020 · 03/10/2026 07:45

A sweet you can take that gives you your evening meal (whatever you desire) without the need to cook. Thinking of the scene in Willy Wonker really.

There are just evenings when I can’t be bothered with the faff of cooking etc but still want a satisfying meal.

I want low fat mascarpone! I want to make authentic tiramisu (have a much loved recipe from an Italian friends grandmother which is delicious) but whilst I'm losing weight it's out of the question!

As a Tunnocks teacake is perfect I don't want to see any 'flavours' despite loving lemon meringue pie. Sorry.

https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/Morrisons-Lighter-Mascarpone/107730206 it does exist!

I agree! I have a pack of Alpro soya dark choc pud in my emergency store, along with tinned fruit. It tastes very treaty without actually being that much of one.

Ginger flavoured fruit pastilles

You can get them in Spain, gominolas de jengibre. I get them from my Spanish colleague when we are at the same meeting in exchange for Earl Grey tea.
Also, Haribo makes lemon and ginger chewy sweets (Ingwer-Zitrone) but I have never seen them available in the UK.

Nopenousername · 03/10/2026 07:59

I want cake, biscuit, sweets and deserts with real sugar and fat but made in such a way that your body can’t absorb the calories from those, nor do they have any effect on your health like spiking blood sugar

MagpiePi · 03/10/2026 08:07

Savoury chewing gum.

I have seen a Japanese fish flavoured one that sounds disgusting, and I’m vegetarian so it wouldn’t be any good anyway.

Chalky sweets that are mint flavoured. You know like candy cigarettes or those swizzlers lollies or lovehearts?

But minty.

Both minty stuff and chalky stuff is a pregnancy craving for me and I wish there was something that satisfied. Rennies do the trick but obvs can't have more than a couple of those a day.

These Leone peppermint pastilles are nice and chalky if you can find them. They sell them in the Italian deli in our town. You can buy them online too.

The cheese filling from Tuc sandwich biscuits or that used to be in the middle of Cheese Moments, but as a spread

Yes! Do you can enjoy the mouthfeel, the taste, the chewing and swallowing - with no consequences 😅

StressyMcStressFace · 03/10/2026 08:33

I once dreamt there was a carbonated drink flavoured like polo mints and i have often thought that would be really nice! I agree with PP about savoury yogurt. Things like cucumber, mint and celery would work well i think

Ducksurprise · 03/10/2026 08:36

Those sweets from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which are a whole meal in sweet form - three courses, no prep, no washing up, take up no space.
