I'm not talking about discontinued stuff more items that just have never been invented/available.

For me it would be a non carbonated original Coca-cola.

I usually just leave the top off for a few days to get the desired flatness but sometimes I'd just love to pop into a shop a grab an ice cold flat coke.

Weird, I know but that's the one food/drink I'd really wish was readily available.

There was a trend on Tik Tok recently of foods people wish were available and one was a lemon meringue version of Tunnock's Tea Cakes - I'd love that too.

What would be on your wish list?

A white chocolate bar with coffee cream or praline filling that's easy to find in any sweet shop. Mint cream chocolate with milk chocolate and not dark.

Also boxes of chcoolates (like Milk Tray) with assorted fillings only covered in white chocolate! (Am allergic to dark chocolate and a bit so-so with milk chocolate unless it's very blond, but can eat white chocolate like anything). I miss a nice chocolate assortment!

Ginger flavoured fruit pastilles

Oh yes. They sound great.

longtompot · 03/10/2026 09:48

A powder, like bouillon, but for bechemel sauce. So you can get the flavour of a bechemel sauce without all the faff. Even though it's not a huge faff but sometimes a shortcut would be good.

@StressyMcStressFace there is a French cordial which is mint flavour which you could have with soda water for a fizzy, minty drink. I first saw it when I was at school and my actually French French teacher brought it in.

They have this Bechamel powder in French supermarkets. The brand is Maizena if you ever visit or ask a friend to pick some up. It's very good!

Savoury muller corners , maybe a brie flavoured yogurt with crunchy bacon pieces , a sour cream one with marmitey breadstick pieces, and also one with a garlic and herb yogurt and mini pretzels

Yes!

Off topic but I also want savoury scented candles. None of your blueberry cobbler- I want lasagne or shepherd's pie or chicken and stuffing.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 03/10/2026 10:07

And a savoury herbal tea. Not bouillon. Am infusion with herbs and veg. Tomato and basil, carrot and coriander, etc. I don't mean soup. Just tea.

muddleofpuddle · 03/10/2026 10:11

A decent vegan cottage cheese alternative that had a similar nutrition profile. It's literally the only food item I have ever missed since going vegan in 2001!

I once dreamt there was a carbonated drink flavoured like polo mints and i have often thought that would be really nice! I agree with PP about savoury yogurt. Things like cucumber, mint and celery would work well i think

There is a mint chill sprite i bought some the other week it was ok, quite refreshing but not massively minty.
also not sugar free but peppermint cordial mixed with sparkling water is nice.

Strangly I was thinking about this last week
A savory perhaps marmite and or cheese breakfast cereal.
For the odd occasion that I don't fancy toast

Have you ever tried oatmeal or porridge with cheese added? An Italian friend adds Parmesan and it’s delicious. I imagine marmite could be stirred in there, if that’s your thing.

Gluten free bread that is actually like real bread.

Gluten free bread that contains only ingredients that you could plausibly have in your kitchen cupboard, rather than be an ultra-processed bag of complicated derivatives.

I'd love to find this too. I have not found one GF loaf that doesn't leave a weird aftertaste or upsets my tummy because of all the crap in them. I've had to give up completely.

Nice vegan chocolate puddings like cheesecake or ice cream.
I'm veggie but also not keen on the whole ethics of the dairy industry plus can't eat too much of it due to IBS!
Allmost everything has gelatin and dairy in.
I do miss a decent smooth and tasty cheesecake!

I don't eat dairy either and really miss cheesecake.

Savoury chewing gum.

I have seen a Japanese fish flavoured one that sounds disgusting, and I’m vegetarian so it wouldn’t be any good anyway.

I bought coriander chewing gum in China. I'm yet to try it though... 🙈

VividDeer · 03/10/2026 11:34

Wine with no calories and no hangover

Nincompoo · 03/10/2026 11:39

I’d be happy with more ginger or cinnamon flavoured sweets. They do exist in other countries but apparently not here. Thailand is great for ginger stuff! We always bring a load back and eat it within a few days.

I’d like to be able to buy big pots of the fruit corner yoghurt.

Mmmmm......I could go for that too!

Sosmix and beanfeast

You can still buy sosmix

ScottBakula · 03/10/2026 12:06

@Rustydogtail have you tried the cola syrup that is meant to be used soda streams ? It probably won't taste like cokecola but it might be ok.

I'd like icecream that's not cold.
I like the frozen texture , I love a good vanilla or mint ice cream but my teeth and head hate the cold

bluespotsandztarz · 03/10/2026 12:12

Sainsbury’s liver sausage from 80s-90s! Fried for breakfast was incredible

I'd like a coffee-flavoured Tunnocks anything! 😋

Non alcoholic wine that actually tastes like wine - not a sweet/artificial flavour

How can we invent all the tech we can but someone still can’t produce a beautiful tasting wine with zero alcohol?!

jackstini · 03/10/2026 12:22

TheoreticallyAdult · 03/10/2026 07:41

90% dark chocolate with mint

Tea that not only is decaf but also has fluoride and tannins removed. Damn hypothyroidism.

Alter Eco or Verse for the chocolate, but you might have to import!

Best I have found in UK
is Montezumas at 74%

Dahlia1234 · 03/10/2026 12:41

Gingerbread or pumpkin spice flavoured porridge. Ready Brek used to do a gingerbread version but it was discontinued 😕

Oh yes, I agree! The only acceptable ones I've found are Kylie 0% white and pink, Tanquery Gin, and Whitley & Nell Rhubarb and ginger gin. I would love a 0% red which tastes and feels just like a full bodied red

@Moistcottonchafers thank you for that suggestion. Sadly I can't see the ingredients, though one site said it was wheat starch and palm fat, and we have a dairy allergy and gluten intolerance in the house. I would love a powder like a curry powder and you add an amount to hot (plant based) milk that thickens and tastes like bechemel sauce.

You need Berwick cockles @TokyoTantrum

These are so pretty

I'm sure i could also just plough through some Kendall mint cake!

Thank you everyone for your lovely chalky minty suggestions 🩵

This should really be makeable, surely? Can you explain how you would like it to be different to bouillon? I want to try!!!
