She us scheduled to be executed tomorrow, hideous crime no doubt. But after 30.years? I dont agree with it.

Christa Pike execution: Tennessee governor rejects clemency plea

If the execution proceeds, Pike would be the first woman put to death in Tennessee in more than 200 years.

What about her boyfriend who also took part in the murder? Was he executed? I’m going to guess not. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi and another female got life, which means life, for luring her in, and keeping her there, but pike was the killer, not them.

And what about people like the poor man that spent 17years in jail for a rape he did not commit?

I think it’s incredibly unlikely, but even if I put myself in the situation of someone bringing wrongfully convicted and sentenced to die, I think I’d be quite pragmatic about it and tell myself:
a) spending a whole life sentence in prison with no chance of parole would only be marginally better (or would it even be?)
b) I could have been struck by lighting or one million other things could have happened causing my untimely death, it seems it just was my faith to die before my time.

Nope.

Shadolla Peterson got probation in exchange for giving evidence.

And then all your descendants are ashamed of your memory because they believe you murdered a child. I'd desperately not want to leave that legacy, Ta, and I'd want a long time to be able to clear my name before I can't.

I agree with this but we can’t allow people who have had traumatic childhoods to torture and kill others. She gave a death sentence to that poor woman she killed, and a life of grieving to her family who had to know what their loved one endured. She should never get out of prison for that alone.

Well of course we don’t and shouldn’t allow people to do what Pike did. That’s a different question to whether the death penalty is justifiable

Rondayvu · 01/10/2026 11:42

So now they try keep her alive is that the plan? I mean if she gets through this of course. Just unfathomable.

Exactly. Just keep her locked up!

dottiedodah · 01/10/2026 14:21

I think that certain (Thankfully very rare crimes ) do need a stricter sentence .And I would support it .If we had such sentencing here ,it would give an alternative to judges .How many times have terrible murders taken place ,and they are let out in many less years than given.Robert Brown was given 26 years for the murder of his wife with a hammer ,while children were in the house . this year he was due for release ! Luckily this was overturned .Before anyone says he was from a terrible background ,he was an Airline pilot and very successful.I think Christa Pike has suffered from the botched execution ,however I wont be shedding any tears Im afraid ,I will save that for her victims family

Rondayvu · 01/10/2026 14:55

I think the fact shes been on death row 30 years should mean that they stop baying for her death if she pulls through this and lets her die in prison. All the appeals have been costly and it would have been far cheaper to just have her life her entire life in prison than all of this back to court and stays of execution and now there is a botch job on top of it. I wonder can her family now claim off the state about that? Either way if people had stopped baying for blood this scenario would never have happened. The prison terms in the US comparred to the UK and Ireland are very extreme I guess you could say, maybe more fair compared to the crimes committed anyway.

If it had been my daughter that she lured , stabbed and tortured , I would be happy to see this happen. Pity it took so long . Those parents are living with the agony of knowing how their innocent child suffered and died .

Pike was not innocent ,not a young child and knew what she was doing as she planned it . She fought against dying but deemed it OK for her victim .

No, Tadaryl Shipp is currently in prison. His recent parole bid was turned down but he can reapply in 2031.

It’s not hypocritical. You’re recognising that there is - quite rightly - a difference between your emotional knee-jerk reaction to an horrific crime and actual workable policy. I wish more people would grasp that difference, as the hang ‘em and flog ‘em brigade are getting louder by the day.

I agree.

Our impulse for revenge and retribution can run alongside our philosophical and ethical beliefs

In a civilised society ethical beliefs about state execution prevail

Yeah, she wasn’t innocent, not since a man stuck his dick in her 2 year old vagina. She never stood a chance in life.

I know plenty of people that have been abused, I work in social work, some of them from infants. None of them have gone on to inflict that pain on another person, cut them, beat them, carry round skull parts. She also attempted to kill someone years later in prison.

most rapists, murderers etc have some form of trauma in their background. What’s the solution? Knock off parts of a sentence because of it.

No as I said she should be locked up for life.

I’m also pointing out that she never had a chance at life. And this botched execution is another example of how she was let down by the state.

The whole saga has cost a bomb, caused the victims family more distress and been inhumane. And in the meantime more children are being left in traumatising situations, like she was.

a man stuck his dick in her 2 year old vagina

How is that known? She remembers when she was 2? Or someone has confessed?

Geunine question.

Gross. Her losing her freedom isn’t sufficient for you.

An Article I read said she drew a picture in school and the authorities were alerted. A neighbour raped her at 11 and he was prosecuted for this.

she was diagnosed with PTSD and bi polar disorder in prison. The clinical therapist who treats her in prison also confirmed her childhood abuse.

It was in court documents submitted by her defence.

I was SA when I was 2 I don't remember it I know it happened because I was admitted to hospital and needed stitches so it's confirmed on my medical records

Colleen was never given a choice so why should the woman who murdered her?

Yes, and I'm asking how they know.

Rondayvu · 03/10/2026 13:24

Well clearly if it is in her doctors notes an adult brought her to be seen by a doctor and that was the 'diagnosis' whether she remembers or not. I don't see what it has to do with the situation anyway or are you trying to say somehow the fact she was raped as a child should have no bearing on her latter years as she did not remember the exact rape?

No, someone was really specific about the age and I wondered how they knew. (And it still hasn't been made clear.)

I'm certainly not doubting that she was/is a seriously disturbed person.

I didn't bring up the age she was raped at, someone else did. Ask them.
