Fairford latest: Counter terror police investigating if Iran is linked to RAF base bomb plot, Sky News understands | UK News | Sky News https://share.google/cU4wjxGZBYQtIb3sx

I couldn't find a thread on this breaking news. How awful for everyone involved.

But that’s not the point though.
People are rightly not happy about murders and rapes by asylum seekers and no amount of gaslighting is going to change that.

Agree @IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken

I think she shouldn’t have got herself out there tbh - apparently a potentially valuable terrorism witness chatting to all sm?! Surprised it was allowed. Surprised police haven’t been in touch to tell her to shut up either.
Obviously, she should be kept safe.

Quite.
Fancy doing interviews as if it was a big scoop and then it turns out just to be some fuel thieves.

ilovebrie8 · 28/09/2026 18:11

Trump said they had been watching them.

GentleSheep · 28/09/2026 18:09

So where does Trump fit in with all this? "We've been watching these diesel thieves for quite some time! Scotland Yard were very helpful.." 🙄

Is there any outside chance he might have been talking rubbish? Has he got form for that sort of thing?

Here's an interesting factoid that a military US journalist pointed out, I don't know if it's been mentioned on this thread. The vans used with their fake logos (not linked to a real company) were written in red. Fuel supply vans in this country always use green lettering, but this lot used red. OK you say what's so interesting about that? Because in Iran, they use red lettering for fuel. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I think that's worth pointing out. (image attached)

That’s nonsense. Some U.K. fuel vans without green lettering. Some even with red.

Well I guess if they are inept they might not have known about the green lettering rule. But interesting none the less.

There is no green lettering rule.

The farmer must be feeling worried now. She was on TV saying the police haven’t followed up with her.
One minute she is being praised now she’s being turned upon 🤔

If I were her I would go into hiding. The State doesn't have her back.

Hang on- you missed out my conspiracy theory that it was either Prince William or Harry and Meghan behind it all.

Definitely compelling evidence given Harry has only just recently moved to the Cotswolds.

Haha 😀, and isn’t Harry trying to squeeze the home office for tax funded security for his kids schools drop off, you might be on to something there, you just may have cracked the case.

MisterT373 · 28/09/2026 18:02

Does nobody here watch "Lioness'? The perpetrators dont necessarily come from the nation behind it.

What, the petty thieves stealing diesel?

Not really exciting enough for a tv drama.

A colleague of mine has and he says he's been told they are going to put the age of potential recall up to 60!!!!! I said not been funny they can't send you out to the field at 60 and he said no but there is other stuff he could do.

The government can't just call people up radamly because they are ex servicemen or women.
When you join up you are given a contract. Mine was 9 years service and then 18 years reserve taking me to age 45. After age 45 I can volunteer or join the army reserves but I'll not just be receiving a random letter through the post telling me to get ready for war.

She's got nothing to reproach herself about.

She made a report to the police about suspicious vehicles and men in the area. That's it.

The police responded and apprehended the men - though some random posters suggested and still do, that there were more men that got away.

The scene was cordoned off and houses evacuated as a precaution.

The local police handed the investigation over to Counter Terrorism Police.

Suspects intervied and released on bail.

Someone put up a tweet about high alert at the base before the men were seen. But it sounds very amateur if the new theories are true.

LastOnePlease · 28/09/2026 17:54

This isn't true, you are not helping your cause, and your valid, legitimate, concerns by spreading misinformation. The scheme is open to the following:

  • Afghan women and girls, particularly those considered vulnerable or at risk.
  • Palestinian refugees, including people with particularly serious protection or medical needs (For example, this would include people who fought with the US/UK against terrorist groups and are therefore now targets.
  • Other vulnerable refugees, including people with disabilities and victims of torture (again victims of torture because of the risk they posed to terrorist groups who they were working against or those who rebelled against terrorist organisations for example).

People will be identified through organisations such as the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) rather than simply being able to apply because they are Afghan or Palestinian.

Your post is missing context and detail and that doesn't help you in bringing others who might disagree, towards your view on this.

Edited

And then they bring in husbands, brothers, cousins, uncles under family reunification rules and continue to produce numerous babies for the welfare state.

LBFseBrom · 28/09/2026 18:18

Let's hope this turns out to be nothing but why the British are allowing the US to use their airbases is beyond me.

TemperanceWest · 28/09/2026 18:19

YourAmplePlumPoster · 28/09/2026 17:10

That's OK then. A woman's life is worth nothing.

I somehow doubt Alexandra Whyte thinks that about the murder of her sister and neither do I.

BombasticBee · 28/09/2026 18:19

MsJinks · 28/09/2026 18:00

Probably a better system than bombing parts of the world then wondering why folk make their way here too.

I do not shrug off people’s deaths btw - I have only saud how horrific they are.

But you did though. How else can you explain your dismissive ' the odd asylum seeker will murder ' comment, in relation to Rhiannons death? Sit with that for a while.

GetBernie · 28/09/2026 18:21

This is taking such a weird turn. Trump seems to think his people were involved and on the case all along, the woman who dialled it in to 999 is rightly furious that it no-one answered the phone on the local security hotline residents of the area are given, and now after being initially told that their vans were found with 'explosives' on board by counter terrorism police after the 999 call, they've now been bailed. Confused

You SURELY wouldn't bail balaclava clad potential terrorists with vans full of explosives in a high security area, even if the 'explosives' turned out to be diesel. Would you??? Although these days nothing would surprise me.

Someone put up a tweet about high alert at the base before the men were seen. But it sounds very amateur if the new theories are true.

The base could have gone onto a higher alert state for genuine int reasons...then just so happens our diesel stealers choose the wrong/time place to do a bit of thieving....

Probably unlikely but stranger things have happened.

GetBernie · 28/09/2026 18:22

The woman's statement said that she came across a big group of men, can't remember the exact wording but it certainly sounded like more than the 5 who were apprehended.

Yes it could be the case.

And if some other immigrant say a dr wasn’t here someone’s life might’ve been lost.
But take this up with the sister who said this - tell her she’s wrong.
I had best clarify that I think Rhiannon White’s murder was horrific on here I think!

Or take it up with her mother Siobhan Whyte who believes that her daughter's death has everything to do with immigration.

The point is we don't need asylum seekers like Deng Majek in our country. The risk is too high. And we can train our own doctors, which we should be doing anyway.

Signalbox · 28/09/2026 18:28

Lol, if it’s diesel or oil thievery I’d love to see the police interviews. I bet the “no comment” tactic will have gone right out the window. Must’ve been a bit of a shock for them when they know that the police don’t normally even show up let alone investigate.

MsJinks · 28/09/2026 18:29

YourAmplePlumPoster · 28/09/2026 18:16

And then they bring in husbands, brothers, cousins, uncles under family reunification rules and continue to produce numerous babies for the welfare state.

No one brings in brothers, cousins, uncles under family reunion visas - right now family reunion visas are suspended - when it was available it was restricted to spouse and children under 18 and relationship had to be evidenced.

Please stop with the misinformation and get your facts together and then be abhorrent if you insist.

I don’t know what to say about producing numerous babies for the welfare state except it’s a disgraceful way to speak about women in MN.
