Thrilling <ahem> Saturday night mystery for you all

Never let it be said that nothing interesting ever happens to me … In today’s episode of the world’s greatest mysteries, my electric blanket has disappeared!

Being as the weather’s on the turn, I decided earlier in the week to get the blanket out from under my ottoman bed. The lead was tangled in something and I didn’t have the time or patience to sort it on that occasion. So I went to do it earlier today and it’s not there! It’s not anywhere. I am perplexed! Where is it?!

I remember a thread ages ago and someone’s ironing board disappeared. Don’t think she ever found it.

anyone else in the house moved it? Is it on the bed? Did you leave it under the bed or take it out and dump it? Is it in the bath?

Has one of your children recently left for university?

Funnily enough, I moved house 3 weeks ago, so that could conceivably have happened! It didn’t though.

No one else has taken it - it’s just me and ds22 here at the moment. Honestly, I hate to be one of those posters who refute everyone’s suggestions, but it’s not anywhere. It’s disappeared I tell you!

are you sure it was the EB you were wrestling with the first time? Could the EB have been stored in the attic or the wardrobe all along?

(or maybe you actually wrestled it out and put it on the bed and have somehow forgotten )

Could it have fallen over the edge of the storage tray into some dead space under the bed?

Where did you go immediately after deciding to leave the blanket for another time.

OR its octopus energy stealing them (i cant find mine either might have given it away) that's why they can afford to give them to their customers they are STEALING everyone else's

Did you throw it on the bed and its slipped behind the mattress at the headboard end?

Have you checked DS22’s bed?

Did you take it to the dry cleaner and forget it?

I don’t have a husky - I do have a dachshund though.

I’m FAR too old to have a toddler. Ds22 is my baby :).

All the boxes are unpacked. It was DEFINITELY under the ottoman bed and it’s DEFINITELY not there, or anywhere I can see now.

No cleaner sadly.

How am I going to survive without my electric blanket <wails>.

The minute you buy a new one it will turn up.

No harm having a second one, a heated throw can have a dual purpose, bed AND sofa!

If you moved house, are you SURE you saw it in the ottoman in the new house or are you just remembering it being there in the old house and your brain hasn't caught up!

It's in a packing box. Check again.

I am not sure of many things in life, but of this I am absolutely 100% positive! It’s a mystery. But I think I will have to buy another one and learn to live with the unanswered question as to my blankets whereabouts!

What was the lead tangled in?

It’s almost certainly in the same place as my white cotton summer coverlet which has also vanished into thin air.

I remember the ironing board! That was years ago! I'm not sure it ever turned up. Sorry can't help with the electric blanket though.

My toaster once vanished for days. My DS had put it right at the back two shelves down. Something like that?
