Thrilling <ahem> Saturday night mystery for you all

Never let it be said that nothing interesting ever happens to me … In today’s episode of the world’s greatest mysteries, my electric blanket has disappeared!

Being as the weather’s on the turn, I decided earlier in the week to get the blanket out from under my ottoman bed. The lead was tangled in something and I didn’t have the time or patience to sort it on that occasion. So I went to do it earlier today and it’s not there! It’s not anywhere. I am perplexed! Where is it?!

I've lost mine too!

It took me two hours to find my pink highlighter in the house last week. It was on a shelf in the spare room for no reason at all and I have no memory of putting it there.

Did you take it to the cleaners?

Do you have any other furniture that opens in a similar manner to the storage bed - I.e. You've filed the memory as being your bed you were looking in when there was the tangled lead, but actually it was the x.

It got tangled in the drawer mechanism and is jammed in there somehow. Or fell between the drawer and bed frame.

Do you have another bedroom with an identical ottoman bed which you have simply forgotten about?

Now it has to be somewhere - your brain must be playing tricks on you. Ignore your brain totally (I find this serves me well on many occasions) and methodically search your home as if you were a random taskrabbit worker directed to search a house you’d never been inside of for an electric blanket. Empty everything.

Wouldn't the bed/ottoman have been dismantled to move it?

Those massive bonne maman jam jars are excellent for storing highlighters (when you’ve tracked them down). Eat the jam first though eh.

Have you checked that you didn’t already put it on the bed?
I switched to hot water bottle a couple of years ago, love it.

Where was the kindle please? Mines gone awol . It’s got a black cover which men’s it is invisible at night.

Is it stuck to the underside of the ottoman bed?

Either that or it wasn't the right lead.

In the wardrobe. I must’ve managed to yank it out from under the bed after all and stash it there for some reason. Absolutely no recollection of doing that.
