What time do you like in till at weekends (if you’re not in work)?

So during the week I’m up by 0630. DH has asked if have any plans this weekend and I said is like a proper big lie in. He says I do this every week. I’m usually up by 0830. 9 is the very latest. I would truly love to stay asleep one day until 10am. Don’t have any children at home these days to require me being up early. I just can’t stay asleep but am still tired when I get up.
What’s the norm for people these days? I know it’s a ‘how long is a piece of string’ type question but I’m intrigued as to whether DH or me have the more common perception as to the ‘norm’.

I'm up at half 4 during the week, at the weekend I tend to wake up naturally around 7 or 8 but I don't rush to get up, I just relax in bed for another hour or two.

Epoisses · Yesterday 21:25

Never lie in. Awake 630 every day....if not before

ThunderThunderThunderThunderCats · Yesterday 21:26

Up between 6-8.30 on a weekday depending on what shift I’m on. I usually lie in until at least 10am. I hate being up early.

JacknDiane · Yesterday 21:27

10/11, its great

Autumnallaround · Yesterday 21:28

I'd love a lie in but I prefer to walk the dogs before anyone else is up. Maybe when we don't have dogs anymore.

My alarm goes off at 5am seven days a week. I do snooze it a few times on a sunday though.

I'm in bed already!

purplecorkheart · Yesterday 21:35

I am up at 7 week days and wake up the same time at weekend. At weekends though when I wake (and after having to pee) I get back into bed and close my eyes, most of the time I just day dream but sometimes I fall asleep and have a really good sleep.

piscofrisco · Yesterday 21:36

9 ish
I am up for work at 6 during the week

BashfulClam · Yesterday 21:43

Even on days off I wake up between 6&8 and still feel shattered so why can I not just go back to sleep? I was off today and work at 7.56 to go for a wee turn went back to bed, woke at 9 then absurd to fall back over till 11

ExpertlyDecluttering · Yesterday 21:45

Adult DCs here too. Get up 6.30-7 for work during the week, 7.30-8 on Saturdays (Parkrun) and lie-in Sundays but getting up at 9 would be extreme for me and it's very rare for me to sleep past 8. If for no other reason than going to the loo and once I'm out of bed I tend to stay out. Occasionally make a cuppa and go back to bed to read.

Edited to add usually go to bed 11-11.30.

Myremoteislost · Yesterday 21:45

I'm up at 6 in the week and 7 at the weekend. I have tried to stay in bed past 7, but rarely make it past 7.30.

FancyKitten · Yesterday 21:47

Not really bothered about staying in bed, but getting into bed early (alone!) is a treat for me.

DiscombobulatedHedgehog · Yesterday 21:51

I remember as a teen I was desperate for a lie-in (my Mum would not allow you to stay in bed past 8.30am)…I left home, immediately had children and my life in the decades since has meant I have never, ever, had a lie-in 😂. During the week I need to be up at 7am so body wakes between 6am and 645am, at weekends it does the exact same thing. Doesn’t matter what time I go to bed.

I should have appreciate the 8.30 as a teen more!!!

Seawolves · Yesterday 21:55

Bed at midnight, up at 5am to start meds and change feed for my little one. If he's not awake I try to take a coffee back to bed once everything's done, he often needs changing and turning at that time too. 5am is a lie in because he often sets his heart rate/O2 monitor off at some point in the wee small hours.

mamaduckbone · Yesterday 21:58

I’m up at 6.15 during the week (always with an alarm though) and very rarely sleep later than 8 unless I’ve had a very late night. Ona Sunday I might laze around with tea and my book until 9-9.30

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePleaseBarista · Yesterday 21:58

Alarm is set for 6.15am three days a week, 7.30am twice a week, 8am on a Saturday for 9.30am gym class and unless we have plans I wake naturally on a Sunday or on holiday between 8.30/9.00am but a few times a month DH brings me coffee in bed and I lie on and read or occasionally doze until 11am.

Attheendofthestormisagoldensky · Yesterday 21:59

Being able to sleep in (by which I mean beyond 8.30/9) is all well and good but then can you actually sleep (well) the following night?

I can happily sleep til 9am but then the following night is total insomnia! The whole night! Usually til 3am wide awake cursing myself for sleeping in and the next few hours in a very light sleep. Then feel rubbish the following day!

If up at the usual 6.30am I sleep like a log that night…

Buildingthefuture · Yesterday 22:01

I have dogs. I love them but the furry freeloaders have no concept of the “weekend”. Fortunately for them, I am, by nature, an early riser. I’m up by 6.30am latest, every day of the week.
Should I ever dare to sleep late, the “howl off” begins at around 6.45am and would wake the dead.

MissyB1 · Yesterday 22:01

Up at 6:30 on a weekday, I cant sleep any later than 7am at the weekend.

PrettyLittleRose · Yesterday 22:05

I work from home and my (part-time) hours are flexible, (ie; I can work when I want,) so I don't have set hours most weeks. So I am up at the same time most days. Including the weekends. Between 7.15am, and 8.15am. Go to bed between 11pm and midnight usually...

Flufffluff11 · Yesterday 22:09

If I don't set an alarm I naturally sleep til 11 at weekends.

With alarms I usually get up at 9.30-10

ViciousCurrentBun · Yesterday 22:11

With no alarm I wake up between 7am and 9am but usually around 8am.

beaglescurleduplikebagels · Yesterday 22:15

I’m up at 7 during the week and it’s normally the same at weekends but I’ll doze off again or make a coffee and come back to bed instead of getting up right away.

JuanaSmith · Yesterday 22:18

Up at 6:45 to walk the dog before work every week day. Lucky if I get to 7:30 without waking up at the weekend. And I don't let the dog in the bedroom, so need to get up for him anyway. Would love a lie in.

NCTDN · Yesterday 22:53

Wow such varied times! I’ll so jealous of you who sleep past 8 without a struggle.
Just watched a film so tonight is a late one for me - off to bed now. Usually I’d be about 1030.

What do you mean by struggle?
