Can you wear this to Aqua Aerobics

I am keen to try aqua aerobics (I last did it years ago!). Very self conscious wearing a swim suit. Do you think one of these would be suitable?

I know a lot of leisure centres (including mine) are trying to be more flexible with their swimwear policy to be more inclusive. The policy mentions shorts/leggings and swim dresses. TIA

I wore something like this but the legs went down to above my knees. It meant I could be very lax on the bikini prep!

I would have thought so. That's a nice swimsuit and has good cover so would have thought it's absolutely fine. I'm sure the policy is in place to stop people wearing barely anything!

Perhaps someone on here wears one of these to their aqua class? or they attend an aqua class where people wear these?

I also go to aqua fit and it is a very positive and accepting space. Lots of swim cover ups warn by men and women. The wildest patterns by the instructor. Your would fit right in.

People wear things like that at the aqua classes in my gym. I’m sure they’re just glad you’re there, taking part and comfortable!

Women wear swim shorts, skorts and similar types of things to the aqua aerobics at my local pool. I'm sure this would be fine too. The only thing I'd worry about is that it would go very clingy when it's wet and become uncomfortable.

As an instructor, as long as it’s not low cut/showing all of your cleavage then it’s a win from me. A lot of ladies forget we do a lot of jumping in class!

I would want something not as loose for aqua, i do aqua HIIT , aqua pilates and deep water aqua fit, I used to do aqua Zumba too until it got cancelled (I love all of it) if it's a shallow class you might find yourself jumping around a lot and I want something nice and secure. IME the classes are almost always women of all ages and the occasional much older male who is there with his wife or at the advice of his doctor. The reason I love it is because it's so inclusive, I've been going since I was a top end size 18 and am now a 10/12 nobody bats an eye and some of the older ladies are hilarious. I have sportier swimsuits for aqua than I do for swimming/the beach, I ended up wearing a normal cossie once and kept thinking my boobs were going to fall out. If you search boy leg women's swimsuit you'll find something. I have a Speedo hyperboom I love, but I spend a lot of time in the water, they're not the cheapest, I didn't get one until I knew it was a hobby I was sticking with

All the people in my aqua class just wear ordinary swimsuits. I also wear swim shorts, but I'm the only one that does. It's all just simple, single piece swimsuits.

I think the shorts on that might flap around and ultimately give you a giant wedgie.

But unless they’re going to the same class as you, that’s not really going to help you. Pools will have their own rules.

I've been to aqua aerobics in the past; this is perfectly acceptable to wear. Even saw people wearing these in the pool on holiday this year.

that is really nice and would be fine in my pool. Much nicer than the swim dresses.

It has inner pants and a lined bra too. You can always wear a cheap thin sport bra or crop top underneath if it’s not firm enough support.

I don’t think that will be comfortable once it gets wet. I would stick to swimwear of some sort rather than wearing clothes in the pool.

I go to aqua- people of all shapes and sizes there. Wear what you want - no one minds but that might be a bit floaty when in the water and make the exercises harder.

That is similar to my standard outdoor swimwear. Suncream isn’t sufficient most of the time.

I wear similar to aqua fit. The only thing I will say is it’s not as supportive of my chest as a sports swimsuit is

I’ve seen people in similar at the aqua classes I go to. How supportive is it? Quite a few women at the classes I go seem to wear a sports bra under something like that.

I’m having trouble visualising it when it’s wet- it will obviously look quite different to how it looks in the photo. But as you’ll be in the water maybe that doesn’t matter.

I like it but I’d second that it feels like it’d flap about and get uncomfortable when it’s wet and that’d be really annoying at aqua classes where you’re deliberately moving around a lot and generally quite quickly.
