I recently finished watching Series 4 of the Piano on Channel 4 and I can never get over how much I love Mika, both as a mentor but also as a singer and a public figure. He's so talented, funny, and handsome as well 😍

He's a proper showman. I love that.

I love him on the piano. Any cool classically trained musician is a win for me. And he seems like such a sweet person.

I didn't know there was a hate crowd. He seems lovely as a person, very encouraging to other musicians, and very talented. Nothing not to like.

Unfortunately there is, but he does seem lovely and he was to me when I had the chance to meet him, I'm not sure where the negativity comes from.

I saw him live in Leeds, must be nearly 20 years ago now!

Would love to go back and time and see his early shows!! Though his modern ones are amazing as well.

He's the perfect mix of classical training and pop entertainment, he was definitely sweet when I met him.

I have! I saw him and met him at his Chicago concert this past May, it was an incredible show and he accepted my gift so graciously. He just seemed so real and friendly in addition to being so captivating on stage (and very gorgeous haha).

Nice, I know a lot of fans do that. I've given him a fridge magnet and a T shirt, still waiting to see him in it though 🤣

Yes I like Mika, persuaded my daughter to drive us miles to watch him in concert at Leeds Uni in abour 2006 - we didn't even get seats! But he was great!!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/08/2026 23:33

DD and I saw him in Manchester this year. We got lucky with our seats as there was one song he walked through the crowd singing, then decided to walk up the steps right by our seats then stand there singing. It was fabulous.
I was very excited. I've bought all his albums as they were released and missed that he was touring a few years ago.

Oh wow, that must have been one of his earliest concerts! He's worth the trouble.

I've been right by him in the crowd too, it's an amazing experience! Hopefully you won't miss future shows you want to see 😁

I like him too, he has a good energy and seems very kind. I didn’t realise he was of Lebanese origin, that makes sense, all the Lebanese I know are lovely people.

hardshoulderr · 31/08/2026 09:18

I saw him live in Bristol a few years ago and he was brilliant

Yeah, his mum was Lebanese and his dad's American. He was born in Beirut and left there because of the civil war when he was a toddler, lived in Paris until he was 8 or 9, then moved to London. He's had a very eventful life.

There seems to be a hate crowd for everyone who is so obviously nice. Whole MN thread devoted to it frequently!

Am pondering whether this is a British thing...

Don't think it's just a British thing. Mika gets hatred from all over the world, even his partner does just for being his partner 😢

Branleuse · 31/08/2026 12:18

I love Mika 💚

Bonjovispjs · 31/08/2026 12:19

Did you hear @ThisDaringPoster that Mika said he's doing something big to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Life in cartoon motion next year? And it's going to go all around the world?.😃 Can't wait to find out what it is.
