The BBC (ducks for cover)

Nigella Lawson - she really annoys me!

keepswimming38 · 29/08/2026 18:36

Ditto. She gets on my nerves seriously.

Mark Gatiss.

Or, actually, almost anyone once they get elevated to National Treasure. It seems to involve hyping them so much that no matter how brilliant they are, it starts to get annoying to hear their talents being exaggerated. (Gatiss is annoying anyway, though.)

gingercat02 · 29/08/2026 18:40

Jonathan Ross always hated the slimey fucker.

Brendayouknowthatyouremuchtoolazy · 29/08/2026 18:40

That giant man with the tombstone teeth who everyone seems to adore. I think he's creepy.
I have an irrational dislike for Lulu.

AmazonAntiqueStore · 29/08/2026 18:40

David Attenborough. I just find he comes across as sanctimonious.

Richard Osman? Yes, seriously creepy

Summerhillsquare · 29/08/2026 18:42

Stephen Fry...tedious. Except as Jeeves or Melchett, which he was obviously born to play. So SF as himself I guess!

PancakeCloud · 29/08/2026 18:42

Stephen Fry

Me too - always thought I was alone in this!

viques · 29/08/2026 18:43

Miriam Margoles, Sandi Toksvig .Joanna Lumley.

Sorry.

There is probably a special place in hell reserved for me.

And Stephen Fry

Its the smug I can’t take.

StressyMcStressFace · 29/08/2026 18:43

Stephen Fry

mbosnz · 29/08/2026 18:43

At this point, the royal family en masse. Except for Princess Anne.

MyThreeWords · 29/08/2026 18:44

I particularly hated it with Spike Milligan, decades ago. It was really creepy how a lot of younger, male comedians gawpingly overrated him and patronised him. It was particularly horrible given that he was intermittently mentally ill and vulnerable. Often it involved the patronising male comedians patronisingly indulging the signs of his illness and dutifully calling them genius.

MyThreeWords · 29/08/2026 18:45

Oh, yes, Stephen Fry <shudders>

SereneGoose · 29/08/2026 18:45

Wow! I mean this is already verging on heresy...if the Treasures weren't "treasures" would we like them or is it just the nomination (whose btw?) that makes them hateful? Mark Gatiss was genius in league of gentlemen for e.g...

Everyone already mentioned plus Stephen Graham who seems to be heading toward NT status.

thesnailandthewhale · 29/08/2026 18:47

Jeremy clarkson

paomara · 29/08/2026 18:47

Who decides who is a treasure anyway, must be someone with a sense of black humour.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/08/2026 18:48

Stephen Fry, although as already said, I’ll never tire of watching him as Jeeves.

Miriam Margoyles - very pleased with her opinionated self.
