I’m so sad about this, her music and style is iconic but her imagination library is a huge legacy. What a difference she has made to so many little readers

She was a total inspiration! Whenever I would feel unconfident or fed up I would often tell myself “ Be more Dolly!” She was a force of nature

When doing interviews on TV she always made me smile, especially the one where she told her mum when she grew up she wanted to be trash.

Don’t say this about the death of many people who are in the public eye. But the announcement of Dolly’s death has actually made me a bit emotional.

If her amazing work on children's literacy was the only thing Dolly ever did, she would still be a legendary woman. Yet she did so much more. The songwriting. The performing. The LGBT activism. The business success. The $1m donation which funded the early development of the Moderna Covid vaccine.

She turned down America’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom three times because she didn’t want to take political sides.

RIP to an extraordinary artist, performer, philanthropist & person. 👏👏👏
