I've been watching some of the coverage about Dolly Parton and feeling deeply sad. We always saw her as this incredibly strong person , but her recent health struggles really show how vulnerable she was. It's heartbreaking to think that after her husband passed away, she was navigating such profound grief. She openly admitted to neglecting her own health while caring for him, which is such a common, reality for caregivers. Even though she was universally loved, she didn't have children or an immediate, live-in support system to step in when she was burning out. In my view, the hidden isolation and the sheer weight of being 'the strong one' for so long took a massive, toll on her health. It just goes to show that loneliness and grief affect on even those who seem so strong and we can all suffer at those times when we are so alone no matter who is around.
