Poor Ava still can’t have Oreo’s!

Has anyone else enjoyed the school text insta thing about poor Ava not being allowed Oreo’s?

It got me thinking about the weird school WhatsApp chats that went on when my lot were younger.

I think the best we had was “can we all have a chat to our children about not weeing on the school field please? T is upset because he can’t do stand up wees and now I have to wash and dry his school shoes before
tomorrow” T was the only child who thought it was ok to wild wee on the school field. Everyone else used the toilets.

What has yours been?

Huh?

DandelionClockSeeds · 25/08/2026 17:32

Oreos are horrid.
Not missing anything there.

Shark321 · 25/08/2026 17:44

I don’t know how to share from insta.

If you search for ashleighjamz you’ll find the school group chat things. It’s kept me entertained for days.

The oreo thread is hilarious and jaw dropping in entitlement. Poor bloody Ava would stop stealing everyone else's oreos if her mum stopped making them into something forbidden and to aspire to.

Huh?

AI songs made about school WhatsApp drama. Ava’s mum messaged the group to ask that the children aren’t given cookies in their lunchboxes because Ava isn’t allowed processed sugary food like that and she was sad when her friend had Oreo’s. Ava’s mum was outraged when her message didn’t stop Oreo’s being sent in the next day and went to the school asking that a policy was set in place that only specific, agreed foods are sent in.

And now we're in the Double Stuffed Oreo era 😂

Mine was Covid era when a parent (who's child was incredibly disruptive in the classroom resulting in regular school lockdowns for safety) sent a whatsapp admonishing parents who had asked for clarification about the new policy of staying in PE clothes instead of changing which resulted in crumple school shirts and the admonishment was around how 'this was our opportunity to teach our children how to behave properly (!!!!) and learn how to FOLD their shirts before putting in bags'. My ghast was well and truly flabbered at that.

BabblingBiddy · 25/08/2026 17:48

I've only seen a couple of random posts as I don't follow the creator. But they've made me laugh. I'm so glad my DC were at school before unhinged mums WhatsApp groups were a thing!

lalalagarden · 25/08/2026 17:49

I’ve never understood the liking for Oreo’s.

MyKindHiker · 25/08/2026 17:50

This was funny - although it is totally fake. Suno the app have paid a bunch of influencers to do fake texts for attention. There is another one with a fake bachelorette party, another with a woman who's mother in law wants to attend the birth of her baby.

Interestingly all the ones which have gone viral were about (imaginary) women leaning into the worst caricatures of entitled female behaviour. It's all a bit sexist and ick.

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 25/08/2026 17:50

I assumed Ava and her Oreo’s was all made up. Is it real?!

No, it's just advertising for the music making app

PolkaDotPorridge · 25/08/2026 17:52

Very funny 🤣

Shark321 · 25/08/2026 18:09

Im unsure whether its real, made up by the music/text company or even Oreo themselves but it has made me laugh.

I’d love to hear other people’s unhinged WhatsApp messages.

I’m in WhatsApp groups for all three of my kids’ classes, and there’s genuinely never been any drama whatsoever - it’s all birthday parties, lost jumpers and “What page is this week’s maths homework?”

TofuTuesday · 25/08/2026 18:21

It’s made up though isn’t it?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 25/08/2026 18:25

Oreos always remind me of dogs' charcoal biscuits.

They're definitely fake videos BUT scarily not far off my DD2's Y3 WhatsApp group. DD1's class group is much quieter (and saner!)

iloveanearlynight · 25/08/2026 18:48

I'd hope whoever actually wrote it realises they don't need the bloody apostrophe. It's a plural. Oreos.

truepenguin · 25/08/2026 18:53

I genuinely thought this was a cryptic crossword clue and was going to try and solve it for you. Something like Avocado (Ava + Oreos and then some kind of anagram?)

Shark321 · 25/08/2026 18:57

Autocorrect on the apostrophe. Sorry.

I want an Oreo now

MagicThanks · 25/08/2026 19:43

our Year 3 one is totally fine and normal. Our year 5 one is batshit.

Jaimelefromage · 25/08/2026 19:48

I’m seen the insta posts, no one actually thinks it’s true do they?! It’s clearly faked for engagement, and it worked!

JustAnotherWhinger · 25/08/2026 19:51

Of my four that have had WhatsApp class groups three were entirely normally. One was insane.

One of the dads made fake-Ava’s mum look calm, rational and polite 😂

He even once asked that there be no birthday parties on set dates that they were away as his child got “very emotionally distressed” when they missed out 😂

VieuxFort · 25/08/2026 19:52

I’ve seen it. I assume it’s a work of fiction.
