An unusual and shy artist

I wonder who the private artist is?
Definitely not my style, I love antique and vintage furniture though.
Anyone snapping it up?

Not at that price, nope.
And having seen all of the pics, they'd have to pay me. 👀
Don't get me started on the description.

BlessicaBlimpson · Yesterday 19:41

No, don’t be silly.

The first on eBay and the world!

I’m guessing this eccentric person painted it themselves and is trying to give it a mysterious story.

Echobelly · Yesterday 19:57

Is it you @Dragonhugs ? 😉

Description is very odd!

MillicentMaybe · Yesterday 22:52

Junk.

viques · Yesterday 22:57

Aw bless. The cabinet has had over 200 views. And no bids. Shame on those of us who have raised someone’s hopes only to dash them down again so cruelly.

Sorry seller. 🙁

smallglassbottle · Yesterday 23:47

It's an absolute load of rubbish 😂

FairKoala · Yesterday 23:57

It looks awful and no idea what the descriptions even means

Needs to to be less money as a healthy dose of paint remover will be needed

Franjipanl8r · Today 00:05

Unfortunately I don’t think you can paint like that, call it art and expect someone to buy it. There’s a very limited market for amateur art for the obvious reason - it’s amateurish. It’s a nice thing to do for a hobby, not to make money.

Dragonhugs · Today 00:17

They are also selling this for the bargain price of just over £30000.

I actually like the repair job

Only £14 to post a £30k vase 🤣

Looks like a toddler got up to mischief when the parent wasn’t looking and decided to practice their artistic skills on a previously quite pretty piece of vintage furniture!

462 views now.

It’s worked to get free publicity by posting on MN. Whether that would lead to an offer I couldn’t say.

watermybegonias · Today 09:01

Looks like something from my 2 year old grandchild's upcycling day at nursery.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · Today 09:17

Ebay is an interesting choice for selling a £30,000 vase.

I think the person was drunk when they wrote the description and when they painted it

UnctuousUnicorns · Today 11:09

"Beautifully hand painted" - by the seller's four year old child, by the looks of it.

Mistachio · Today 11:10

The description is absolute gibberish. Wtf is an “Apple orchid”? 🙄

Gribouille · Today 12:38

I know it's not cool to mock someone writing in what is clearly a second language... but... I'm adoring that description... 'the big house we have all heard something about them we cannot tell you anything'... Intriguing!

It would add a little savour to AI if it started scraping this... 😁

RightOnTheEdge · Today 14:27

That description! ❤️😂😂

My first thought was that every child is an artist but it’s really more appropriate to gift to grandparents than trying to even sell for a fiver not alone this 😂

momager22 · Today 15:38

Is that a piss take?

ArtfulDenimSheep · Today 19:13

Awe I actually like it and think that it's quirky and cute. I feel sorry for the seller if he sees all the comments on here. Id buy it but haven't got that sort of money. Not sure what my max would be, but I'd certainly give it a loving home where it would feel wanted and appreciated. Dread to think what other mumsnetters will think about me.
