Mine is in Titanic (1997). The immediate aftermath of the ship hitting the iceberg and the reaction to it. I have seen the
film more times than I can count but bit still takes my breath away.

Schindler's List - The girl in the red coat scenes because of what she represents, and the scene where Oskar Schindler said “he didn’t do enough.”

These scenes both make me cry so much.

Also the stampede in The Lion King. I think the music is amazing and really makes me feel the panic.

Also "I'm Spartacus!"

"I'm also just a girl, standing infront of a boy, asking him to love her" 🥹

The scene at the end of Don’t look now with that thing in the red coat as it turns around - saw that a kid. Stayed with me

The performance of Joyful Joyful in Sister Act 2, loved that movie and I still listen to their version frequently

Beaches - what her friend dies Sad

Bangkok Hilton - the execution scene

"You're a wizard, Harry". (Harry Potter #1)

"SIT DOWN Jake!" (Dirty Dancing)

🎬 Always...
"Girl clothes, you got me girl clothes"

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/08/2026 00:07

The scene in the Sound of Music, where Maria and the Captain are dancing the Ländler (sp?) and there’s suddenly a huge electric charge. One of the most erotic scenes in cinema IMO - and nobody’s even started taking any clothes off.

OtterlyAstounding · 17/08/2026 00:15

Not to spoil them too much, but....
When Captain Kaneda faces the sun in Sunshine while Adagio in D Minor plays. It's just perfection.
The ending of Big Fish, when the son takes his father to the river. I cry like a baby.

Dogma - Alan Rickman's 'Behold the Metatron' speech from entrance to ordering tequila.

the biggest crime surrounding Dogma is that it is no longer available on any media!

Mine is "No ticket" from Silent Bob!

We've gone on holiday by mistake. Withnail and I.

We could all do with some rain.

@PyongyangKipperbang Two thirds of his entire dialogue 😂

Luckily I have multiple copies of Dogma and a Series X capable of playing them, it may need to outlive me!

My son and I have two (edit DVD) copies each! I am considering buying a safe for them!

Almost everything in Forrest Gump. But especially:
Forrest running until his leg braces break off.
Forrest realising Jenny is at the protest in Washington DC and wading across the pool to her.
Every look from Lieutenant Dan.
Bubba talking about all the things you can do with shrimp.
Bubba's mum never having to work again after the success of the shrimping business.
It is my favourite film 🙂

The bit in the Matrix where Neo finally accepts he's the one and stops the bullets and stuff.

I love the opening credits of Saturday Night Fever, nobody struts like John Travolta

DishingTheDirt · 17/08/2026 01:17

Sleepless In Seattle where she s listening to the radio and peeling an orange in one piece and the boy is talking about his mother doing the same.
Also in Overboard where Goldie Hawn sprays the kids with the hose.
Also Uncle Buck where he throws a dime at the teacher telling her to get a rat to gnaw off her mole.
Pretty Woman-too many scenes to list!

Piknik · 17/08/2026 01:42

'True Romance' - "So you're Sicillian huh?"

Dennis Hopper knows Christopher Walken is going to kill him so, calmly insults and trash talks him whilst Walken gracefully smiles all the way through it. We know, that they know, how it's going to end - but Walken can't help but admire Hopper's balls and he lets him have his moment.

Two fantastic actors doing fantastic acting.

Out of Africa when Karen Blixen is narrating and she says….i have been told a lion and lioness have taking to sitting on Denys grave…I think he would like that. And the camera pans the African wilderness and the animals sitting on the edge overlooking the valley.

In Now Voyager - the scene in which the previously frumpy Bette Davies confronts her bully of a mother and realises she is not afraid for her mother to disinherit her if she doesn't toe the line. I was a plain girl who made myself attractive so this movie has always resonated with me. I also love the soppy last scene where she and her lover agree to part and have a last cigarette together. "Lets not ask for the moon when we have the stars."

The “see me now” scene In Bram Stomer’s Dracula. I wish it wasn’t, but it’s my favourite film for nanny reasons (I don’t see it as about love, it’s quite more like madness, but I love that bit so much).

Gary Oldmman is simply a miracle,

Beautiful scene, their chemistry and romance is so realistic and the way the Captain looks at Maria when they’re dancing the Laendler. This is the moment when they realise that they’re in love with each other. Just perfect!
